Rei cosplaying.... Rei?

My Rei hasn't really seen the anime she is from. I want to let her watch it but I fear she may freak out a little after seeing how she is portrayed in it.

 

But she has been going online lately and seeing different outfits she wore in the anime as well as seeing how she was always "damaged" in the first part of the show.

 

For some reason, the pictures she saw of herself all bandaged up fasciniated her. So she asked if she could dress up like that once and have me take some pictures of her. I was so happy to oblige her I went right out and got some things to use for the bandaged look.

 

So after some adjustments and fitments were made, Rei was all ready to go. So now I present to you my Rei cosplaying as Damaged Rei from Evangelion!

 

 

 

 

Making the top took a few tries. The shoulder piece kept giving me grief but I finally got a look I wanted.

 

 

 

 

I tried hard to make sure the bottom part didn't look too much like panties. I dunno how well it really worked tho. I think it's ok....

 

 

 

It took me FOREVER to get her head wrappings to look right. I had to do half of them under her wig and the other half on top so her eye stayed covered correctly.

Thank you Mitsuki! It was a bit of work but like you said, it was totally worth it! I'm really happy with how these turned out. Rei was too!

Thank you! They didn't go on like I wanted at first so it took a while to get them like you see them. I'm glad you like the final product tho. And yes, you do need to watch Eva! It's a must see in my opinion.

Thank you sir! And yes, these are real bandages I got from Walmart. I needed 2 small rolls of their thinnest stuff. It's self adhesive so it kind of sticks to itself but not skin. So no stains or damage to worry about on Rei. For her head bandages, I had to cut the regular ones down lengthwise to make them small enuff for her head. THAT took some time to do with scissors...

Wow, great job on the head bandages. No way I'd have the patience (or likely the dexterity) to put them on while fighting the wig at the same time. Very impressive.

 

You need to get her a plug suit so she can cosplay more scenes. Since you're always posting items made by various individuals you've ferreted out I'm sure you can find someone to make one for her right? XD

Great job and nice photos! That must have been a lot of work. Rei is so cute. I agree, Eva is a "must see". I've seen the original series at least 3 times. I like the new movies too.

Wow setting up those bandages must have been really time consuming...But it really paid off as those photos were really nice!

Great work Billy! Even thought I really don't like the Eva anime (yes, I'll admit it!!!!) I can't help but say Rei is just so adorable in bandages. She is doing such a great job at cosplaying as Rei. I feel sorry for her being hurt and want to give her a hug!

Thank you everyone for all the kind remarks! I really had fun with this shoot even tho the prep work took me so long. Getting the bandages to look right was more involved than I figured it would be.

 

And yes, I missed a spot, ha ha. I had to have SOME type of fanservice in there for you pervs...

 

I'll try to do the school outfit with eyepatch and arm sling in the future, I think it would look nice too.

 

The bandaged version of Rei is what really made me love her character in the anime. I have a weak spot for the "damaged girl" type. I think all guys do to a point. It's the whole protection urge. So I'm really happy I got around to finally doing these and I'm quite happy with the results.
