JoyFes (Tokyo Dolls Party 30)

Some interesting news out of Volks today is that Tokyo Dolpa 30 isn't going to be just the Dolls Party. They're going to combine all four of Volks' big hobby festival lines -- Dolls Party, Hobby Round (figures), Rail Expo (model trains), and SMF (plastic scale models) -- into a single capstone event for the end of their 40th anniversary year. This event will be called Joint Festival, or JoyFes for short.

 

JoyFes will still be on 22 December at the Big Sight, same day and place we already knew for Dolpa 30.

 

Also, in an unexpected move, entry to this huge combined event will be free. Usually one has to buy the dolpa guidebook for 2200 yen in order to get in, but not this time. No further information yet on whether there will be a guidebook at all, or whether they'll handle number draws and one-off entries some other way for JoyFes.

 

Taken together, 4 events + free admission means it will be really crowded, but on the other hand that's a huge savings on the cost of getting in the door. If you were planning on being in Tokyo in December, that may make it easier to go to a Dolpa.

 

More news as we hear it (probably in Volks News 56, due mid-November).

I've never been to any Dollfie event before and it seems like this one should not be missed.

 

Doubt there will be any, but are there any doll events between mid to late December till early January to mid?

Ooh the new dollfies look gorgeous! But thankfully I've never read/watched the source material of these girls, so I can safely say I won't enter the lottery for them.

She is Yaya from Unbreakable Machine Doll (http://myanimelist.net/anime/17247/Machine-Doll_wa_Kizutsukanai) an anime that is airing this season.

I see. She's very cute but I haven't heard of that anime until now.

First Creamy Mami and now Belldandy as resin. Plus Chi and the Rozen Maiden dolls. It seems as though Volks makes dolls of characters popular primarily to females out of resin. If they ever did make Sailor Moon dolls ( ) I wonder if they would also be resin. That would make me sad, since I don't feel the resin dolls are as posable, or able to stand without a stand.

I do hope that Belldandy will become available through VolksUSA, even if it is through lottery. I just know that I'll need to try to get her for my boyfriend.

OMG, Belldandy!! I think she looks more like she should as a SD than she would as a DD. I fell in love when I saw the pics of her on Tumblr, but thankfully I don't have a need to own her. She's truely beautiful but I'd have no idea what to even do with her since I'm not so good with predefined characters.

 

I don't know who the two DD girls are but Erica sure is cute! She may be a danger to me later on... That face is just begging to be a custom girl! I keep on staring at her smile. So very Mona Lisa-esque.

Yeah, I really hope if they surprise us with Sailor Moon dolls that they'd be DD since the proportions would look so much better on a DD!

Natsuki's Bear Outfit is so cute. I think I like this color scheme much better than Moe's Bear. I also really like the Waitress/Maid Outfits. The white boots for MDD & DD are really nice too. Hehe I could keep going on & on, but basically I see a lot of really nice things Though I will most likely wait for these items to show up at Volks USA. Keeps me from over spending... at least that's the logic behind it

Wow, and I was just thinking about sourcing bits and pieces for a custom Belldandy... Volks, you want too much of my money. >.>
