THREE years with Rei and Yoko ( pic heavy )

Oh my lord, THREE years already! June was Manami's 3 year anniversary and now, in October, it's time to celebrate my number two and three girls anniversaries!

 

I purchased both Rei and Yoko in person while I was in Japan on vacation back in 2010. I found Rei in the first Mandarake store I ever stepped foot in, it was in downtown Osaka. Rei was in a case in her box and had her school uniform included along with her swimsuit. This was the first time I'd ever seen DD's in a store in person and it was insanely awesome. Unfortunately, I had no clue that Rei was on a DD1 body until I got her home and unboxed. She later got upgraded tho so no biggie!

 

Yoko was purchased two days later at a store in Denden Town ( Osakas version of Akihabara ). There were actually THREE Yokos in that store and she was the least expensive due to being stained. I asked to see her and once that box lid opened and I saw her little face peeking out at me, I was instantly in love and HAD to have her. I bought her and an outfit from there and wound up getting a BIG discount for showing the clerk helping me pics of Manami.

 

So after they were bought I shipped them both home and they arrived a few days after I did. Manami helped open their box and she was very surprised that I got her not one but TWO sisters. I also got a TON of clothing from Volks stores so once the girls were unpacked and ready to dress up a little, I took some pics of them in their new clothes and with their new sisters.

This gave rise to one of my most favorite photos I've ever taken of ANY of my girls. This photo is just so perfect to me, I love everything about it.

Rei wasn't too keen on photos early on but she still gave me some nice poses.

Rei did learn that when she DID let me take pics of her, she could get away with all sorts of things.... like getting me to buy her stuff and give her snacks. But she gave me excellent photos when she really wanted to.

Ahh, this is what started it all for Rei.... her very first Maid Uniform! I got this in Akihabara at the A-zone store but it's made by Little Wonder.

After all that, things calmed down some and the girls got into a groove of being girls. Trying on clothes was always a fun thing to do. Yoko found Manami's bunny outfit and looked adorable in it.

And even tho Rei usually looks irate or at least indifferent, she can be VERY sweet and completely vulnerable at times. I was lucky to catch her in such a mood a long time ago and I love the pic.

So there they are. I still can't believe it's been 3 years already. It seems like just yesterday I was opening their boxes and welcoming them to their new home. But I'm glad they're here, they make my DD family whole.

It's really awesome to look through all of the pictures in chronological order... I see how your girls have changed and also how your photography has changed as well!

 

I still remember when I first saw your photos of Yoko in the leaves, and I always thought those were really great. The color of her outfit, hair, and eyes looks so great with the leaves and the trees. I still think that it's a really great color scheme for the photos. ^__^

 

I do have to say I'd like to see more pics of Rei with her white glasses, they're really adorable and they look great on her. The red eyes, blue hair, and the white glasses just go together really nicely. I think the glasses shape looks really good as well.

Thank you very much! I agree that it's cool to see changes in the girls and in photography styles. I can tell exactly when I get a new camera or lens.

Thanks! I like those on Rei too but she doesn't seem to like them all that much. I'm not sure why but she very rarely wears them. Maybe if I tell her people like how they look on her, she might wear them again.

Thank you! That wig on Yoko was one of those wigs I bought when I first got Manami. I was actually pushed into buying it by some friends when we went to a doll meet up in Charlotte, I didn't even WANT to buy it but after some harassment and prodding, I got it anyways. I'm glad I did tho because even tho it didn't work out on Manami like I had hoped it would, I had it all set for Yoko once I decided to try other wigs on her besides her default. We all think it looks like Cutey Honey so it's been named the Cutey Wig or the Flip Wig due to the little flip in back and sides.

Awww, thanks! I also love that shot of Rei! You're right that it's rare to see her looking scared or shy so that makes it even more fun to have a shot of her like that. Rei is just so great overall, I absolutely adore her. And goes for when she's chasing Manami around too, seeing those two do silly stuff like that makes me smile.

I know right? It sure doesn't feel like 3 years have passed since I was in Japan and buying these girls but it certainly has. Odd how I've aged so much and they haven't changed a bit! And thank you very much for the compliments! I know you aren't complaining since YOU constantly remind me I need even more girls in my family.
