Favorite music/musicians/composers?

Well, as someone who studies music, I have to admit I am picky on what I listen to. ^^;

 

So, here are my few cents for music.

 

For singers and groups (I am including seiyuus too), I like Kalafina (Yuki Kajiura's music is just awesome.), Ali Project, Saori Hayami, Kousuke Toriumi (These two seiyuus have one of the best singing voices.), Kanon Wakeshima (Don't think I can play an instrument while singing. :p), Lady Gaga (I think she is a well rounded musician; she can play the piano nicely, plus her voice is real good without autotune.) and Linkin Park.

 

For composers (Classical ones too), any music by Konami (I think you know that it is a game company, but hey, they have a reputation of having awesome music.), Yuki Kajiura, Kenji Kawai, Mozart, Brahms, Bach and Tchaikovsky.

 

So whats in your ears?

I like pretty much everything except any music with crude lyrics or screaming. XD;;;

 

Right now I currently listen to: 90's m-flo, nujabes, DJ Deckstream, Janelle Monae, Justin Timberlake, Touhou, and Janita

to say im eclectic in my tastes would be an understatement! ive had a little bit of everything in my musical diet, and i switch up genres here and there based on my mood. i was raised on alot of older rock though, so i will always have a spot for the standards of rock and roll history.

 

led zepplin, pink floyd, deep purple, black sabbath, van halen, ozzy, the beatles etc, etc.

 

but i love music in general so i have a taste for whatever current indie i can sink my teeth into without feeling "too" much like a hipster as well.

 

i listen to about as much anime music as the next fan, but my tastes in that tend to stay in the 90's and backwards. those themes were catchy!

I can be open minded I choose whatever it is on my mood, but when it comes to my liking I always go to my one seed of selection of Classical when it comes of composer Muchiru Yamane and Nobuo Uematsu.

I will listen to everything that's actually listenable to; that being said some punk groups and very heavy thrash metal don't suit my tastes that much.

 

Out of the top of my head, recently (as in, what's been on my playlist this past couple days) I've been listening to: Babymetal, the GazettE, Therion, Disturbed, A Perfect Circle, Thousand Foot Crutch, Avicii and various Vocaloid covers and songs.

 

Regardless of what I listen to on occasion, classics and instrumentals are always a huge weakness of mine. I have a particular fondness for Chopin in particular and a few others as well depending on my mood at any given time.

I listen to a little of everything, but my music is centered on Vocaloid and Rock / Pop Rock

In Vocaloid, I listen mainly Miku, but also Kagamine Rin / Len, Megurine Luka, Kaito, Meiko, Gumi (Megpoid), Yuzuki Yukari

In Pop Rock / Rock, I listen to Linkin Park, Indochine, Green Day, Guns N 'Roses and other

I'll base my answer to this question on who I've been going to the lives of recently. If I like 'em enough to go cheer them on in person then I suppose they're my favorites at the moment!

*Shoko Nakagawa, the cat-loving gamer otaku who is always a barrel of fun.

*BABYMETAL, the metal idol trio with fox god imagery and a heaping helping of awesomeness.

*Asami Imai, the voice of beloved iM@S' #1 singer Chihaya.

*Game Center CX, which is mostly videogames but the Budokan show had the staff sing their own songs!

Thank you for this post! I have been trying to remember Kanon Wakeshima's name for almost a month, and it has been driving me crazy.

Heavy metal. All heavy metal, all the time. It's never too early in the day for metal. I've listened to metal at 4 in the morning before. When I'm doing doll stuff at home, I'm listening to metal while I do it.

 

80s glam metal, thrash metal, power metal, prog metal, symphonic metal, funky metal, etc.

 

My favorite band is Helloween. Ever since I heard Keeper of the Seven Keys, I've been hooked.

 

I like technical guitarists. Yngwie Malmsteen, Chris Impellitteri, Gary Moore, Tony MacAlpine.

My favorite band would have to be Tool.

Their music is really intelligent and has a really cool and original sound. I also like A Perfect Circle's music, the same singer from Tool sings in this band also. I love playing music by these bands on my bass!!!

And then I like a lot of stuff by Maynard(Singer from Tool.) cause like in Tool and A Perfect Circle his lyrics are really involved and well written, along side with the fact that the boy can sing dang good!

Dir en Grey is also an awesome band. I really like their music and their songs are fun to play on bass too!

Then I like Alice in Chains, and some stuff by Deftones and Incubus along with the GazettE. The list can go on and on. haha

 

Then I also like stuff of a completely opposite genre, such as some Vocaloid songs and music by Perfume.

I love many different musicians, I listen to music constantly. Multiple hours a day most days. I like a couple of indie bands and I also really like Nicki Minaj, Lorde, Lady Gaga, Linkin park, Maroon 5, although I have songs from like, 50 different artists on my phone....

Enya

Anything ranging from classical to metal really with the exception of rap and country. Can't stand the last 2 categories.

As far as bands/artists: Gary Numan (80's to current stuff), Chemical Brothers, Pet-shop Boys (some of their songs are pretty good) Joy Division, Orgy, Fear Factory, Postal Service, Kalafina, Baby Metal, quite a few DDR selections and remixes (moonlight shadow, speed-over Beethoven.. etc), Two-Mix, Hatsune Miku, Luka Megurine, Kokia, MIQ, Ali Project, Yousei Teikoku and many more.

I love so many different music from Anime to Classic, 80's, 70's, Heavy, Musicals, Enka, Pop, International (Japanese, Turkish, French, Austrian, Italian, ...)...anything but HipHop, Rap and Jazz (well, still there might be some tracks I like)

My favorite are Iron Maiden, Chopin, David Bowie, Buck Tick, tom Waits, Ghibli Soundtracks, Edith Piaf, Tarkan, Ludwig Hirsch, Gackt, Nick Cave, Maria Callas, King Diamond, Malice Mizer, Raphael, Johnny Cash, Schandmaul, Mantus, Nightwish,............

I like Marina and the Diamonds and Vocaloid mostly. I do listen to a little bit of country, however.

Vocaloid I also listen to pop music (katy perry and so...)

I especially love Keane, Perfume, Shibayan Records and Teddyloid.

Vocaloid, Studio Killers, One Republic, Marina and the Diamonds, and many many more. I just love having a beat to match a mood.

Hmm my favorites would have to be: Kalafina, Chouchou, Kanan, Sasakure.Uk, Supercell(although lately I've come to prefer their older stuff), Egoist, and Nagi Yanagi. There are others I like, but those groups I usually prioritize buying music from.

Dave Carter and/or Tracy Grammer, Caroline Reese, the Silent Comedy, and Skittish

I love Miku! I also like My Chemical Romance and Gerard Way's solo album

My favorite artist is definitely Namie Amuro.

 

I am more of a fan of Jpop and English Pop.

 

Jpop Artists that I like: Kana Nishino, Crystal Kay, Yuna Ito, BoA, Koda Kumi

English Artists: Backstreet Boys, Westlife, Blue, N SYNC, A1, 98 Degrees, Sam Smith, Leona Lewis

I like almost everything from Chopin to Marilyn Manson. rock, metal, classics, romantic, Japanese, Spanish, Hindu, Israeli music etc etc

 

The only genres I don't like much are the modern rap, hip hop, reggae, spanish salsa. I love the old ones like Bob Marley or the Fugees but modern music kind of sucks in my most humble opinion.

 

As for my favorite musicians, they have always been: Muse, The Smashing Pumpkins and Nightwish.
