First things to do after getting a new girl?

I recently bought my first DD too; I took the advice here and bought a set of cool-cat reinforcement parts.

For me the wig and a wig cap goes on first. Pantsu are a close second, but I always feel like hair is more closely tied to their dignity than underwear.

 

I usually then sit them down and go through the rest of the stuff that came with them. For simpler sets like my Idolm@ster girls I put their default outfit on right away, but with the more complex sets like Kos-Mos and Saber Lily I went through all the stuff that came with them and saw how it fit together before I tried to put it on them.

 

I also usually try on a bunch of different things to see what fits their look best.

More clothes? Wigs? Stands? laugh!

I barely had Lily out of the box and she gave me quite a list of all the things she "needs." I had no idea.

 

I expected requests for more clothing. The dog wasn't expensive. Neither was the camera. No big deal. But, the rifle ( !!! ) arrives next week!??

 

And, you're going to find that you need to upgrade all your photographic equipment, too.

Yep. That's one of the first things Lily told me, too. Does NOT like to be photographed without hair.

Weirdly, my girls aren't too fussy about having hair. Granted, Nanoha prefers to have hair, so she kind of deals with baldness via dignified resignation. But Agatha sometimes doesn't really notice if she has hair or not, Miku thinks she's hot stuff whether she's got something on her scalp or not, and Homura almost seems to prefer being bald because it's less fuss. (Actually, I had Homura's hands off when getting her dressed for the first time, and put her wig on before I put her hands back on. She was LIVID. XD Hands > Hair by a longshot for her.)

Camera's and lenses I'm good on, but I am thinking about some lights and a small product photo stand with backdrops.

I have just bought a DD on layaway and I have already bought for her some wigs, eyes and now I am browsing some clothing. I like to make clothing for my dolls but unless I have the doll in hand it's not happening. Last time I tried the clothing was too big and the one before the clothing was too small, no middleground

With my other dolls I had a lot waiting for them to try on before they arrived, but I only have my wig for my up coming girl.

I guess I will take pictures of her and sew some more clothes for her when she gets here.
