Keripo Posted November 5, 2013 A few weeks ago I found DD Kotori/Sakaya's Santa outfit on Mandarake. The Google translate of the item description was a bit confusing but the pic looked fine so I bought it anyway: When it arrived earlier today, the first thing I noticed was that all that white fluffy goodness wasn't all that white... Upon closer inspection, it was quite apparent that almost all the white parts had been stained pink by the red fabric (note that it looks a lot darker in IRL than these photos show): I was wondering if there is any kind of treatment/"bleaching"/etc. that I could do to lighten up the colours, or at least prevent further colour transferring. ~Keripo
faustbane Posted November 5, 2013 There's several things you could try. The first I'd suggest is trying rit dye remover: http://www.ritdye.com/store/laundry-first-aid/color-remover-group I've never used it myself but it's specifically designed to remove migrated dye. After you do that, I'd suggest dye fixative to make sure it doesn't happen again: http://www.ritdye.com/store/laundry-first-aid/fixative-group The second thing I'd try is clorox 2 or a similar color safe bleach. Either that, or if the stain is really stubborn, regular bleach pens might work. I've also heard that vinegar can be used to remove excess dye from fabric but I've never tried it. baldylox Posted November 5, 2013 I have this same outfit and mine has the exact same issues. The bad thing is that this outfit also stains DD's with the red areas pretty quickly. I had this on one of my girls and only after about 3 hours, she had red stains on her nips, her upper back and her arms. All the stains came out easily with only one application of Oxy10 tho. But the problem is that if you wash the entire outfit, those white areas will get even more pink. And I'm not sure how you could get out the red form the white areas or make the rest of the outfit not stain without affecting the white areas. Hopefully someone will know how o do this so we BOTH can get our outfits cleaned up! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. Marq V Posted November 6, 2013 ...I had this on one of my girls and only after about 3 hours, she had red stains on her nips, her upper back and her arms... That wouldn't necessarily be a bad color, would it? *ba-du-boom* Galfriends at home: DD: Yoko, Yui, & Briana Rei Resin: Tatiana, Leda, Miyoi, Tana,... & Gena<

Marq V Posted November 9, 2013 I was just thinking: Have you tried taking it to a local dry cleaner and see if she or he has any suggestions? Sometimes they can help with doll clothes. DivinitaAria Posted November 10, 2013 I wonder if the spray stain remover stuff works. I once died a cardigan pink and the dye made huge spots dark dark pink and I was furious, but I used Shout, followed the manufacturer's instructions, and the dark pink went away to the pink of the surrounding area. Keripo Posted November 24, 2013 So it looks like soaking it in an entire mini-bottle of the blue gel Clorox 2 and hand washing it didn't do anything... As a last ditch attempt, I bought a Clorox Bleach Pen, used more or less all of it rubbing in the white gel into the white parts, and let it sit for a day or two (actually forgot about it and lost track). Threw it in the washer and surprisingly, it came out pure white and clean! The boots suffered though; the bottom plastic parts came apart and I can't seem to find the other boot, but know that a Clorox Bleach Pen works if you keep it on long enough (I didn't use water til the washer). Will take pics once I find the other boot >_< ~Keripo

Keripo Posted November 25, 2013 I'm so scared of staining. I guess bodysuit option would be the best? For this outfit, I definitely would, unless you've washed it tons of time like me. Edit: For future reference, here's some pics of the whitened but damaged parts: ~Keripo
