SisterKyoya Posted November 18, 2013 While I was trying to take quick photos of the kids in their Halloween costumes, they started to be their silly selves and I thought I'd share. Dolly: "Greetings General!" Rainie: "Hi Dollynator! No time to chat because I've got an important mission to do!" Dolly: *looks at Rainie's costume* "Uh... I hope you're wearing some clothes under there..." *blushes* Rainie: "No time for that! I've got a surveillance mission underway at a nearby goods trafficking emporium where my top-notch skills in camouflage are of paramount importance! I have an insider's tip that there has been a whole shipment of HK agents infiltrating the premise. This mission requires the utmost level of skill and stealth so I feel obligated to collect the data myself. No time to waste since this is the best day this year to succeed undetected. If by chance I don't return, you already know what to do." (Translation: Daddy told Rainie that there was some new Hello Kitty stuff at the grocery/department store where he works. Disguising herself as random foodstuff, she believes that when needed she can hop onto a shelf where no one would notice her. She just wants to see all the new HK stuff so she can add it to her Christmas list...) Dolly: "Gah! Go put some clothes on! You're not supposed to be naked under there! Naked? Gah!" *blushes like a radish* *Rainie boldly walks off* Dolly: "Naiomi!!" Naiomi: "What's the trouble Dolly?" Dolly: "Uh..." *unintentionally stares at her cleavage* "Uh... I, uh..." Naiomi: "There must have been a reason you yelled." Dolly: "Uh... what's that?" Naiomi: "This? It's my petticoat. It goes under my skirt to..." Dolly: "Ahhhhhhhhh!" *runs away* Dolly: *furiously storms into the room* "Tama, tell your sisters to keep they're underwear to themselves!" Tamayuki: "What? Dolly, why are you so red?" Dolly: "Nevermind." *storms off* ~~~~~ Local TV Broadcaster: "In other news- The police received numerous calls last night about someone's groceries appearing randomly in a three mile radius of the southern bridge over the Columbia. It is believed to be some prankster's trick, but one little boy was quoted to say, "I'm not going to eat oatmeal if it has legs!!" ~~~~~ I can say that this costume wasn't my first choice for Rainie, but it turned out to be much more entertaining than I had expected. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

Poofiemus Posted November 19, 2013 Oh my god that's awesome! Though yes, that more than the other costumes did need to get us into the wearer's headspace to make sense. And poor traumatized Dolly. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
SisterKyoya Posted November 19, 2013 *Rainie* Now there is a costume. What a fun, original idea. Fantastic!! The 2nd photo where you can just see her eyes over the oats box is wonderful. Thank you! *bows* The 2nd pic cracks me up because Rainie looks like some weird Oscar the Grouch variant. Oh my god that's awesome! Though yes, that more than the other costumes did need to get us into the wearer's headspace to make sense. And poor traumatized Dolly. Hahaha thanks! I've been talking about Rainie's spy troop training for a long time so it was really fun finally being able to show a little something of what Rainie does in her free time. As brash and hard headed as Dolly can be sometimes, at the core of his arrogance really is an honorable little guy. He's got a super major crush on Rainie so thinking about her without her clothes was just too much for his little brain. Then he got the double whammie seeing more of Naiomi than he's been used to, he totally forgot to tell her to put some clothes on Rainie before she left the house. Oh god, I can't quit laughing. I enjoy my stories just about as much as everyone else. I keep re-reading them and giggling all the way through. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

SisterKyoya Posted November 19, 2013 Thank you! I'm not exactly sure what to think of the fact that I hot glued some empty food containers together and attacked it with an exacto knife and it going over SO well. To me it seems like something anyone could do (Haha Rainie did!) Or is it more about using common things in a way that most people simply wouldn't? Raven and I have talked a lot together about that our DD are not separated from our normal sized world, so it doesn't seem like much of a stretch that Rainie would be in an oatmeal container. Creativity just happens to be my talent. It's like trying to control a fire hose when it's turned all the way on. You can't force it to do anything, just direct it in the direction you're wanting and hope for the best. There is really a lot of things I'm bad at but it's easy to hide because of how creative I can be. My nieces and nephews think I'm definitely on the weird side because often when I see them it's on the holidays and I'm really stressed about having to deal with so many people who are all highly emotional. After about 2 hours my stress is through the roof, but instead of screaming and yelling at everyone I just try to think of the quirkiest things to say to get anyone to laugh. Admittedly when I'm just being myself and say the things I normally would they think I'm weird. Very definitely the 'out of the box' type thinker in a very 'don't rock the boat' type family. At the same time though since I can't really turn off all the ideas, concepts, and projects circling or popping up in my mind constantly. It seems near impossible for me to understand where the normal level of creativity would be. My standard of creativity is distinctly a lot higher than most, at least that I can understand. When my mom came over the other day I mentioned that I had made sugar free Nutter Butters for Raven's birthday and she said "Why doesn't that surprise me that you would do that?" I told her I just adapted a recipe from one of my cookbooks, but she still shook her head in disbelief. I totally thrive on the super kind comments and positive feedback on my creative efforts, but I admit at the same time I really can't understand it. I do try. But I find creative things as easy, if not easier, than most people would think about driving a car (something I can't do.) I see shapes, concepts, and ideas and they start snapping themselves together like Legos in my mind. It was really fun taking October to focus just on costumes even though everything else got put on hold. It should be worth it in the long run because the actual intent was to see what ideas it would spark. Like a one person think-tank. I ended up with more than I could use but it will spark other things later... Plus it was a lot of fun finally having the chance to show off a little of what I can do while I'm still working on Naiomi's Closet. In my long-winded way, this was just a very extended thank all of you for the super kind comments. I love our forums because they are just filled with so many nice people. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
