1st year anniversary

So, it took me a while to get this done, but here it is. Saturday, Nov 16th was out first year together. A lot of changes happened over that year also. I ended a 7 year relationship that was spiraling downward for a long time, I moved to a new city, and had to buy a car. But Kimmy stayed a constant friend to me the entire time. Our first year was a bittersweet one, but without a doubt memorable.

 

 

It was a perfectly normal Saturday in the barracks. Kimberly slept soundly on the bed. Normally, I would have woken her up by now for her morning training, but today, I figured I would let her sleep in on this special day.

 

Before long, the morning light slipped into the window and lit up the room.

 

"Good morning Kimberly."

K: "Mmm, morning Captain."

"Do you know what today is?"

 

K: "Ah! It's our anniversary! I almost forgot!" -jumps to her feet and rattles her head-

 

K: "Bah, I'm so scatterbrained sometimes. I've been thinking about this all week." >.<

-snickers and nods- "It's alright Kimmy. I thought we could do something special today... but..."

K: "Okay! Let me get dressed!"

 

K: "Hehe, I'm Kimberly Shepard, and this is my favorite spot on the Citadel."

-facepalms-

 

K: -peers out the window and gasps- "Awww! It's raining outside..."

"Yeah, that's what I was about to say. Sorry. I had planned on going to the park today with you."

 

K: -bops her head against the window-

 

K: -flops back onto the bed and sighs out- "Laaaaaame! Why today?"

"I have an idea. I'm going to grab something. You just sit tight and I'll bring something special home, alright?"

K: -perks up lightly- "Okay."

 

I stepped out for while to get some things for a small party I planned to throw her. While I was away...

 

-steps down the hallway and into the living room- "I wonder what I should do while Captain is out."

 

-flicks on the light- "Gaah! This place is a mess!"

 

-nearly falls over at the sight of the kitchen- "H..how in the world...? We've only been here a month and a half!"

 

-takes a deep breath as she nods and exhales- "I know exactly what I'm going to do."

 

-begins to ascend the chair- "G..gah! Why are these... tables so... tall? At least the heels give me grip."

 

-heaves as she makes it to the top of the chair- "Wow... haven't been mountain climbing in a long time... Now then...

 

-stands tall on the table and sighs- "Well, best get started here."

 

-a few moments later and once very full trashbag- "There, one clean dinning room table."

 

-after climbing down, her next task would be the kitchen. Sadly, there is no easy way to get there from where she was. Gripping the leg of the chair tightly, she begins to pull the chair across the room to the edge of the counter- "J...just another... test of... strength..."

 

-finishes shoving the chair up against the kitchen counter and collapses against it- "Wow... I... I did it! ...yay me..."

 

-sighs heavily and looks at the mess- "...and why did I agree to do this again?"

 

-leans against the box and looks at the contents- "Deep frier? How deep does it go I wonder..."

 

-pushes the frier back into the corner of the counter top and smiles- "A perfect fit!"

 

-dips a rag into her little bucket and begins to wipe down the counter top- "Scrub scrub scrub, three dragons in a tub..."

 

-stands tall and proud of her work- "I have defeated the Demons of Uncleanliness!"

 

-climbs down from the counter and kicks back on the couch- "Ahh... I think I have earned a good rest. I'll just wait here till Captain returns. He'll be so proud of my hard work!"

 

I returned home later than I thought. With a few cupcakes to celebrate since my wallet was running very low at the time and I wanted to have SOMETHING to celebrate the day. "Kimberly! I'm home! Kimberly?" I walked into the apartment to quite the shock. Either I had been robbed of my garbage, or someone had cleaned while I was away. I moved around the couch and finally found her.

 

 

K: "Mm no no... the sharp end goes into the opponent..."

I quietly set the things into the kitchen and let her rest. The cupcakes could wait.

Congrats to the both of you on your anniversary! It isn't always easy finding the time to celebrate special days like this. Raven and I try really hard to do something special with our kids on their anniversary/birthday even when we don't have time for photos.

 

There were a lot of adorable pictures in here! Kimberly bonking her head onto the window and flopping back on the bed was really cute. There seemed to be a furry bandit hiding in the back of one of those pictures, perhaps that's the culprit behind the messes.

Thanks. I'm not the best at taking photos yet and my camera isn't the best, but I do what I can. And yes, that furry bandit is very much the reason behind just about EVERY mess in the house. XD

Umm...do you suppose there is any chance that Kimmy could come and visit me for a while? If you think your place was in a mess, you should see mine!! I could really use her "help" for a few days! What do you think?? Great anniversary story, by the way! Very cute pictures!

Thanks. Heh, I don't know, it's been a week and already things look just about like they did before she did anything.

Yeah, it's her training to be a knight one day that keeps her so strong. And yes, she loved the cupcakes. A successful day.

It is nice. She hogs a whole side of the bed to herself. So much space for a such a small girl.
