marionbearmaker Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) Hi , Mai was supposed to be my Christmas present but I couldn't help making a quick photoshoot with her to see if we could bond. I tried her on DDS body with S-bust and M-bust but due to lack of time, I didn't take pictures. I find her better on the DDII M-bust she came with. So here is the a quick photoshoot in my bedroom (beige walls, not a wrong balance of whites ), I wish the lightning and settling was better but I had to make everything within the sleep time of my son... I must say I'm not sure if she'll stay or not. I find her magnificent but she is really an "adult", a more mature sculpt than I thought. I prefer younger looking dolls like Reimu, Melty or Yukiho I think. Mai looks kinda sexy all the time, which is not really for me ^^... I think her face is kind of round, which makes me think of youth, and her blushed cheeks also made me feel that way as well. Since you put her in like "normal" clothes, rather than "sexy" clothes, I really thought that she portrayed being young. Maybe different wigs or outfits might make you see her as younger or differently. She's really pretty though! I love the wig you put on her, it's very unique looking. She looks more to me like some younger, self-assured, almost overly confident pre-teen, teenagers that Ive met.... If you didever wish to part with her, I'd hope it's when I have the funds to get her.... I've been wanting a Mai for a long while, but my timing's been way off, money-wise. And I agree that the way you have her setup DOES make her look pretty young.... especially compared to the regular style of most Mai's, like mine. I understand that you want her to look younger and less sexy/adult and altho I think she does look quite yound on the DD M-bust body and that red wig, it will boil down to how YOU feel about her. You're the one who has to be happy with how she turns out. And I'm saying this only because of one thing... If you DO decide that she isn't what you were after and you have to sell her, I don't think there's anyone better suited to adopt her than Battrastard. He HAS been after one for a long while and I know that he would be an excellent DD parent to her. Plus she would get two cool sisters to play with. But like he said, I *do* hope you keep her and she turns out like you wanted. I think you've done a great job with her look and style! After reading you all, I've decided to keep her, I might put her on DDS M-bust after all as it would help me bond with her a lot (the difference with the DDII was not that big). Looking at her pictures after a few hours I realize I love her too much to part with her. I like her on all the pictures I've done today, this is very rare, even my Reimu has angles I don't like, but not Mai ! Battrastard, if I change my mind, I'll contact you first. She kind of reminds me of a mid-teenager and the way you have her dressed makes me think of her heading off to high school. So glad you decided to keep her because she really has a beautiful face!
