03 Head troubles

Recommended Posts

Oni-Chan

So for those who dont know, i got 2 new girls who are both 03 /yukino heads. One is an old hard cap/hard vinyl mold and the other is a soft cap. I have this one wig that fits perfect on my Haruka Niimi head, a struggle to get on mariko but it stays on. But on the 03 head it goes on, but slides off everytime i touch, move or tilt her head or herself. =___=

I have not tried a silicon wigcap etc yet - i'm wanting to know if there anything slightly different about the 03 that might cause this?

Thank you ^-^

I have more dollfies than my age in years *×*

The difference would be that it's an 03 head. All Volks heads vary slightly in size.

Don't worry this kind of thing happens! Not all DD heads like Waha said are the same size. Some are bigger, some are smaller. So the 8-9 wig size is the general size, but sometimes depending on the head it might be tighter or looser. Of my crew Melon (Mashiro) & Yuri (Saber Lily) have the smallest heads, Momoko (Pre-Painted 06 head) being in the middle, leaving Seraphina (Saber Nero) & Tsukiko (DDH-01) with the biggest heads.

Using a silicone cap will help to keep it from sliding around (unless the cap of the wig is REALLY stretched out), but just remember that it doesn't protect against staining as the color has the possibility of bleeding through it and onto your DD's head. Luckily I don't have to worry about color transfer since the wigs my girls use all have light colored caps on the inside. But I do have 2 Dark colored ones which I use both a silicone & cloth wig cap to prevent staining Hope this helps!

For me, even a silicon cap alone doesn't help. Since my 03 has a long, heavy wig that's 8-9" size, it slides off really easily. But the silicon cap is also slightly loose compared to the others. With others I have to turn the cap inside out and stretch it on, but with the 03 it just plops on. Which means it can slip off. I either have to accept that her wig falls off a lot, or put in extra layers, like a nude rubber band to hold the silicon cap, then a cloth cap + velcro to add bulk so the wig stays on.

Or, alteratively, a stretchy 7-8" wig fit her much better when I tried it, but it didn't belong to me.
