NekoMama Posted December 3, 2013 Hi! My friends call me Neko, I'm a 32 year old stay at home mother of an energetic toddler boy. I have been wanting a Dollfie for many years(over 6 years), and could never find it in my budget. However, the pre-order for the Miku DD was too much for my heart to pass up. So, some sacrifices were made to work in the down payment on her and her special spare outfit set. I am going to go crazy waiting almost a year for her to come home to me! I'm trying to figure out how to get her a sister ready, so she isn't lonesome, and to practice my sewing skills. I'm looking forward to meeting many friends for myself and my daughter(s)-to-be. Any suggestions on a nice shelving option, possibly with a 'closet' space for my future doll family? I'd really like to get it all prepared ahead of time, to keep Miku safe from tiny hands. I have moderate sewing/knitting/crochet skills, I can follow patterns very accurately. I have basic woodworking skills. Again, if there's a tutorial or instructions, I can usually do the less complicated stuff. I do have a decent lock on the basement, but really don't want to put my girl(s) down there, it's sad and lonely down there. Anyway, I've got things to do since the little dude is sleeping, I should really quit goofing off on the computer.
Bouncing_Tigger Posted December 3, 2013 Trust me, the goofing off has only just begun! Since I joined the forum in June, I sit down at the computer "just for a minute" and every single time an hour flies by before I know it! Welcome, anyway, and check out all the threads, but especially the ones related to what people are working on for some awesome ideas and suggestions for things you can make! Oops!! There goes more computer time for you!
NekoMama Posted December 3, 2013 I've already put hours of research into this and can barely find anything helpful, pattern wise. I'm not sure I'm looking in the right places. I'm very excited to be a part of such a welcoming community with so many creative people in it. Hopefully I can find some ideas I can put to good use! Amber Posted December 3, 2013 Welcome! Do you have a girl in mind to be Miku's sister? Other than on places like this forum I have not found a lot of things that are exactly for Dollfie Dream either. Most patterns I have found are for other types of dolls... But a few people here have submitted patterns and different crafty things that are just for the Dollfie Dreams. You can probably find some useful things here: viewforum.php?f=17 There are topics in there that vary from clothing patterns to how people made "closets" for their girls. NekoMama Posted December 3, 2013 yeah, I've been looking around in there, it's hard to sort through it all to find stuff specifically pattern related. *edit* I forgot to add, I'm very tempted by the Mini Dollfie Dream dolls out there, they are so cute! I might have to get Miku a little sister... if my wallet will allow me after the holidays.
