pharaviel Posted December 5, 2013 Hello from Italy! I'm Daniel, male, 26 year, clerk in an phone and pc store. My passion are role playing games, photography, science fiction and music. I'm a total newb in the Dollfie world, but yesterday was my birthday and I'm thinking about buying a Dollfie because A: I know, I'm a male but I still like dolls and B: I saw lots of awesome dollfie photography and I'm kinda interested in it. So, I'm going to lurk the place and learn, because I have a hundred of question (like where should I buy? what brand should I get? pre-made faces are good enough or i need someone to help me make it?) and I'm pretty sure the forum has a thousand of answers so I'm gonna be silent for a while, reading tutorial and FAQ and learn what is needed. Dollfie price is much higher than I expected, but I'm pretty sure it's so because of the high quality. So I think I need to research before my first buy PS: Really, my name is Daniele. It's a male name here, but sounds like female almost everywhere, so I think Daniel sounds better online. PPS: I'm here to get knowledge about Dollfies and dolls, but I can give back knowledge about photography. Maybe it's already covered in the forums, but if you need something, just ask! pandy Posted December 5, 2013 Hey there Daniel! it sounds like you have come to the right place welcome to the forum. : D You enjoy roleplaying games? I do as well, What are your favorites? ^^ Happy belated birthday! looks to me like a good time to get started in the dollfie realm~ Yes there are so many wonderful photographers and artists in this hobby I find myself in awe and wonder of it too. Sure! I tend to lurk a bit too as I am also new to collecting , and this is a good way to start. If you have any questions there are many people on here who can help you. As far as purchasing a pre-painted head or making your own it entirely is up to you and your preferences. In some ways it may be easier to start off with a pre-painted head for your first doll and then if you get tired of it or don't like it down the road or wish to change it you can. But it does make things a little easier as you have a little less to purchase. Buut if you have a specific look in mind like a certain character , want to add a personal touch to your doll , have some creative ideas or do not like any of the pre-painted dolls then getting someone else to do the faceup might be better. I suggest just looking around and figuring out what it is that you like first and then when you know what you want it makes the decision process that much easier. : D I hope this helps you and again if you get stuck you can always just ask people like myself or others for help! Bellatrix Posted December 5, 2013 Ciao Daniele! Buona permanenza! ✩ 𝓥𝓲𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓶 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓑𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓪𝓭𝓸𝔁 ✩
