What's your Dollfie getting this Christmas?

Having just bought three new girls in the last two months, trying to save up for one more ASAP, and building up savings for Miku, not to mention more bodies for those the several kids who currently have to share, we really aren't likely to do much this year, either. Of course it would help if my job would get around to giving me that full-time position I applied for six months ago which they still haven't even started interviewing for yet.... Oh, well, at least I have a job I don't hate and it's enough to pay the basic bills. We do have a couple of small surprises lined up for most of them, although one is kind of a full family present.

Mine are getting some of my precious time, which they should be grateful for.

Not anything as far as physical gifts, but I have spent some time with them taking pics. Its mostly about real folks for me this year, less presents, more quality time, and good hot meals.

As Raven said, we aren't doing a huge gift giving stint this year. Our family has already been blessed with our newest girls Sohi, Miss Lottie is nearly complete since she got her hair and eyes, I just got a SWS 02 head..., AND Ellie just got home!

 

 

I guess you could technically say she got Lil' Nut for Christmas (the gorilla) but since he's supposed to be part of her backstory, the lines get a bit hazy.

 

This is one of those Christmases for us that I think of as a 'construction paper and school glue' type Christmas. Last year was out DD family's first Christmas together and I did the best I could during the break form college but it really wasn't a whole lot. We got them some small presents that never quite got around to wrapping, I pulled a tabletop tree out of storage, Ringo and Ralph's blank heads were floating around along with Dakota's body, I never found the chance to make cookies with Tama... but at least we had the cards and things from the Holiday Card Exchange to look forward to. That was really the thing that made our Christmas last year.

 

This year I'm just really content to spend time with my family. Even though the highlights will be watching the Nutcracker and decorating the tree, it is still a pretty big deal for us. Tama has been excited to take the cards and stickers from last year and make them into ornaments for our 'huge' tree this year (it's only about 4 feet), Yuriko and Sohi want to make paper chains, Dakota will most likely wrangle Ellie and Ringo into stringing packing peanuts into 'popcorn' garlands, Bree will probably try to eat said garlands, Dolly and Ralph are conspiring over the details of the separate 'boy's tree' (I've heard mention of dinosaurs, skeletons, and holiday bugs...), Naiomi is helping me with sewing projects, poor Miss Lottie is just a bit befuddled by the whole thing, but mostly I'm afraid to ask Rainie what exactly she has planned for all that glitter...

 

We do have a few presents stashed around the house that we have been collecting for the younger ones in our family, but since I'm trying to get a DD clothes business up and running, there is no such thing as Christmas savings. However, the plus side is that the first new outfit of each run is going to my DD in addition to the mockup outfits I need to make. The other longer term gift is getting everyone their own unique bodies, and bringing Ellie's two brothers home as well...

 

I'm really happy that many other people mention that the biggest thing they are giving their DD is time, rather than 'keeping up with the Jones'. Somehow I get the feeling that the Jones' aren't very nice people, and I doubt they would understand how wonderful DD can be.

Oh gosh, I take back what I said. Rika got yet another thing in the mail, and now she's getting that for Christmas. Oh gosh, so spoiled. ::facepalm::

Lily got the teddy bear she had been longing for so long (a present from my girlfriend) and the cutest outfit I got from Nekopon

 

Akira got a pineapple hello kitty plush (gift from gf too) and some candy

 

Extra got a body again , and also the Excellen cosplay which was supposed to turn into 'DDH-07 Browning' but decided to put that on hold instead to save for their new sister

See, the way I see it your dolls are getting a pretty epic Christmas: the ones you already had got new siblings, and the ones that just arrived got a new home! I guess that's how things will work for a lot of Miku recipients next year, too.

Well Dollpa was today so hopefully I'll be able to get some of the outfits from it. Have no other plans except that.

Yeah, that's pretty much how we're looking at it. All the new siblings are really presents enough, and besides, at the moment we really don't need any more "stuff" cluttering up the space. The kids are already trying to crowd us out. In all honesty, this probably is the best Christmas we've had, even though we are keeping it fairly low-key this year.

Hikaru is got a set of pai and a new dress, Kiyo is got a wig and so did Nikko. Every thing is still in transit though. XD

Oooo! So we get to see the new stuffs at the next meet! Nice! What kind of Pai did Hikaru get? SHe was an L-bust before, did you change her to the Shapely version?

 

Poor girls, I do hope they didn't get actual coal as placeholders.

If I get a Mariko before Christmas ( kind of doubtful ) I want to commission the princess Tutu outfit for her and get her some more Christmas themed Lolita outfits. I think she is going to be the most spoiled of my dolls

I'm toying with the idea of a "Room Box" as a home setting for posing & photos. I've got several appropriately sized furniture items already on hand and a rough idea for the project. I've started checking for dollhouses on Ebay looking for some inspiration. Considering the size of the DDs & Resin SD16/17s we have, a floor & two walls is likely all that we'd be able to manage. A third wall really would make it like a set, but it remains to be seen how this is all going to come about. A requirement will be that it disassembles easily so that it can be portable & stored. Hopefully the weather turns to Fall soon so that the garage becomes tolerable to work in. Still hoping that Volks makes some tailored Jeans to fit DDs & DDdys as nicely as their recent "Stylish Suit Set" does. ( I bought two of those sets just for the pants!) If they do, then getting some of those will be a priority.

I have two girls I'm waiting for that will probably both arrive in December, so Mint is getting friends for Christmas! Any new clothes or shoes that I buy close to Christmas time will be for the new ladies. Mint has already gotten plenty of new clothes and shoes anyway.

 

What I would really like to get all of them, is a couch/chair/bench big enough for all three of them to sit on.

Oh no! I don't even want to think too much about Christmas! I am actually super hoping I can get a job I am after, so that Rika can get her sister (or even sisters) for Christmas. If not, well, she'll be lucky if I sew her something new. She already has a Dollheart pre-order that she'll hopefully see in a couple of months here, and that might turn into her present. Really though, I need to focus on spoiling the resin at some point too, so I don't want to get her much.

I bought a whole bunch of clothes for Christmas. I have a lot of girls (and boy) this year so it's a group present. (Only had 4 girls last year ;D )

Hopefully Miku arrives for Christmas. I have couple outfits waiting for her and just the other day I bought knitting needles and some yarn so I could knit a scarf and a cap for her. I haven't knit a cap before so lets see how that goes.

And if Miku does arrive just before Christmas, she will be MY present! Ofcourse if she arrives like at the beginning of december I don't think I can wait until Christmas eve to open her.

I've already bought a terrifying amount of stuff for Miku, and she's not even here yet. --; 7 pairs of shoes, seven wigs, a DH lucky bag, an outfit, props, misc other clothing, etc. I want to get her an M-bust, but maybe I'll hold off on that until she arrives. I've also been stocking up on cute fabric but I don't want to start sewing until she's actually here. I did knit her a sweater and scarf though. I still have to buy the Miku-specific body stocking and the Mikuzukin outfit...

 

She'll have a great Christmas when she arrives. So much stuff for her to play with.

Im already looking at new clothes for my girls! They could each use some more casual clothes, they each have a dress or two tat can be shared

Haaahaaa.... the DDs will probably be getting themselves some clothes, alongside my other dolls. Nagito is probably the one that's going to be spoiled, though. He needs a bodysuit, possibly eyes depending on how I'll like the ones I have in him and will be in dire need of a wig as I have no fluffy black wigs in his size =/ and then I'll most likely be busy sewing things for him.

If things go as planned hopefully Annie will be getting a new sister, otherwise, I'm going to start on her diorama and hopefully have it ready for Christmas. I just love the idea of a DD sized Christmas tree.

Seeing as how my DD family has grown to over 30 girls now, getting each one their own clothing or shoes and such is now just about impossible. So I'll probably give them some things they all can use like I've done before..... like accessories and things to play with. In the past I've gotten them a pool table, air hockey and a claw machine so I hope I can find something similar for them to have fun with.
