Yukikaze Panettone (Dog Days)

Heyo! I'm itching to get another girl, this time a very foxy and beautiful ninja foxy from Dog Days - Yukikaze. She is for myself this time, unlike Mio who was meant for friend, because anything foxy fits in my domain. I actually want to tackle this seriously but loosely. I plan to do this more casually and in parts instead of actually as a whole fox pounce like with Vara. I basically did a fox-pounce of Vara doing the most expensive option because she is my blog mascot. Yukikaze is more of a desire, an itch to obtain another Foxy to partner up with Vara.

 

I'm hoping that Yukikaze will look as her Anime counterpart in the end.

Well, not sure when I'll get her seeing as how she is more of a lax idea along with funds, but I do plan on jumping onto her next...eventually. I don't really have room for her but I'm sure I can fit her a spot somewhere with Vara once I can find some storage displays of some sort. If I can get a display case then everything shall be fine. This might be a 2015 idea or further as well...You never know due to opportunities presenting themselves and all.

I'd consider getting DDy Miko, she's a pretty good match for the face and figure. If the DDy body looks too curvy, a DD with shapely L-bust would be the next best thing.

The 06 head seems to be a good idea but with a custom make up. I don't think the Miko's make up is the best.

Ya, no way I could get another DDdy Miko. Vara is using that set-up and I just can't afford another like that . Was thinking of doing it in parts. Ooo, lovely choices for eyes and wigs. I'm looking at each and every link just to see what "works".

 

By "06" you mean this, right? - http://www.volksusa.com/hdd06ecs.html - Getting it "make-upped" could be a bit troublesome but willing to try it.

 

I was going through them with me not being really satisfied with the choices. Trying to look for a "happy" mouth for Yuki's cheerfulness. I could probably take the 06 head.

I agree, off the shelf 06 is probably your closest match. An 04 could work, though the lower cheeks would need to be sanded down so it's not so chubby.

 

I do think she looks like an L bust, but not sure the hips really warrant DDDy. She also doesn't have that "invisible push-up bra" look that the DDDy busts have, to be honest. So personally I vote L bust DDII/III--unless you envision her as shorter than Vara, in which case DDS L bust would be the right fit.

 

Wig: Dollce has a couple "proper" ponytail wigs: http://doll.shop-pro.jp/?pid=31844588 and http://doll.shop-pro.jp/?pid=31840286 Downside is that the really saturated yellows are gone at the moment, and they require a proxy. Alternately Leekeworld has a ponytail wig you don't need a proxy for, but the ponytail clips into a bob instead of it being truly pulled back: http://www.leekeworld.com/En/Product/p_view.asp?it_code=5660&B_catalog_num=21 Though in that case I recommend getting into a group order, as Leeke shipping can be a little ridiculous for small items.

 

Not sure about the ears and tail, especially getting them to color match the wig. :/ Might be best to get the wig, then go into a fabric store or get swatches from somewhere, pick the fur that matches the closest, and then either commission someone or make them yourself with super-epic magnets in the bases. And maybe some armature in the tail so it'll pose nicely. (Got a heavy-duty version of that armature stuff myself for another project, and man it's a lot stronger than it looks. 1/4 inch is probably the absolute biggest you'd need, and could probably get away with 3/16".)

 

As for display space, personally I often put my girls in my bedroom or living room. XD Agatha's spent a lot of time sitting on my little subwoofer, and Nanoha's ended up on one of my bedroom end tables now and again. Also, I've seen other people convert dolls' boxes into beds or sofas that double as storage for clothes and smaller props. So maybe you can find more places than you think you will, with a little bit of creativity. =P

I do know of one person here in Ottawa that could possibly help me with make-up and all but I'm also troubled by the fact that I'm not skilled at it or expecting a decline if I ask for help. Not sure what I envision her to be in a DD manner, just a strong desire to summon her in general along with that Ahri dream I had of Volks selling Ahri . I'm going to look more into these L busts.

My only proxie would be Yokatta so the cost might be up there. They actually look perfect so I might be bias when someone recommends something more "bland" when they're just trying to be helpful. Lastly, I have a major issue that I'm having problem tackling. Vara is in an environment that is hostile for her. She has to fend off tobacco smoke, dust, worms (probably Cuban from my souvinears), and little black window beetles. I don't want to say my area is an out-right dump (or at all). It's just I can't contain those stupid worms and beetles. They're bloody everywhere with fabric with me having to purge them on sight. I need something to keep them out .

Heh, yeah, I'm not quite Sister Kyouya wordy, but definitely more so than average! (I blame being raised by a lawyer and a 6-year NaNoWriMo veteran. XD)

 

Hey, it can never hurt to ask, right? So long as you're polite, even if they turn you down they can still be a good contact/friend, and you can get advice on the forums. And if they accept, then even better--crafting buddy! (Same goes for the ears/tail, if you feel like taking a shot at them yourself. I know some projects are intimidating, but as a longtime crafter myself, it's so rewarding to look at something--or be asked about it--and get to say, "Oh, I *made* that.")

 

Yeah, I would say save up and go for the wig you really want. Might not hurt to poke around other sites, in case you find a cute alt wig for either girl (or shoes or eyes, lol), but I've found with other things that compromising on something you're emotionally invested in rarely works out well.

 

Sounds to me like that environment would also be hostile to you! I can empathize; recently moved into an apartment only to find the previous tenant was such a heavy smoker they made an oil refinery look clean, and I've got reason to believe there's mold in the place too. Luckily the girls were the last things I slated to unpack, so when after a couple days I started getting an allergic reaction to the apartment I took them to my grandparents' place. . . and me with them. -_- Complex is working with me to find another unit.

 

If there's not a current source of tobacco smoke, and you're not allergic to the place, maybe you can rent an ozone machine. It forcefully oxidizes the area. They brought one into my apartment and ran it for a couple of days, and it helped the smoke smell a lot--until it became clear that one of my neighbors probably also smokes, so in my case I'm still allergic. ^^; Also, a side effect of the ozone machine is that it severely reduces oxygen in the area, so there's a good chance it'll kill and/or chase away a lot of those worms and beetles.

Shall sound like "fun" in that crafting and finding part but willing to give it a go whenever I'm ready in 2014 or even 2015. They shall be a pain in the rear so I guess I'll have to keep an eye out on Etsy, local craft stores and all. That custom dress will be the most troublesome when compared to craft stores.

Yup, I'll ask when I do get Yukikaze and possibly even Ahri's head. Nearly hastily posted an Ahri part but held back. But ya, I'll ask when the time comes.

 

Saving up I shall! Need to get the right wig so no "secondary" options for something that won't fit. Need the ones you linked so hoping they stick around long enough. Can't compromise on the wigs unless it's equally as helpful, as you said.

 

There is a current source, and non-stop at that. Ozone machine eh? I could.....That's an option or I could finally bounce after a long over-due stay in this area. Sounds like you had it rough with your girls as well >.<. Oh, that'll be awesome! I want to see them go back into the walls so I can then plug them all up. No more fabric munching for them! I seriously need to ID them to see what they really are or why they're around in the first place. They're like little centipedes, but very microscopic. When they curl they're the size of an average headphone jack found on phones or 3DS. Black worms, orange and yellow larva (sometimes over-sized) while striped from side to side like a woodlouse type thing. Google couldn't match it with a woodlouse nor a centipede which I had trouble with. Thinking they could be the black window beetles I saw *big shrug*.
