sleepywolf Posted December 15, 2013 Does anyone know of a reliable, European, source for Swarovski crystals/elements? There's a ton of them on eBay but it's not easy to know if they're fake or not. sleepywolf Posted December 15, 2013 As far as I know the Swarovski shops only sell Swarovski's premade jewellery. I'm looking for places to buy their crystals/elemnts that can be used for making my own, perhaps DD sized, jewellery. sleepywolf Posted December 15, 2013 Oh! That'd be great. Thanks for your help! No need to rush it though. Don't know when I'll have a go at making any jewellery. I'm a bit overloaded with other projects ATM. [rimg]http://www.dollfiedreams.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=201&image_id=846[/rimg]
OldMagician Posted December 25, 2013 From what I know the Swarovski shops/chain only sell jewellery, not loose "gems" for hobby (but do sell larger prisms and decorating stones, but these would be out of question here). Swarovski strass stones are sold by most hobby shops, but quality compared to price can be quite diverse. I normally use efco (search for efco hobbyprodukte) strass-chatons for inlay in doll jewellery (ornamental swords and weapons as example), the good thing with efco (and some other suppliers) is that they have lists of their retailers on their sites. For jewellery I usually use cubic zircon or the real things, which gives great result in life, but is terrible to photograph.
