Today I come home from work as usual and see something out of place...

You "found" it? Those parts are only in the garage and you know you girls aren't allowed out there unless I'm with you. There are things out there you can get hurt on.

As I try and figure out what exactly is going on, I catch some movement out of the corner of my eye. Seems some of the girls are VERY busy in the spare bedroom...

I turn and see an obviously irritated Rei with a sheepish Chizuru trying to hide behind her.

R - "CAN YOU NOT READ? There is a sign posted and everything!"

 

C - "Sorry Papa...."

Well, it's a bit lower than my eye level Rei.

 

R - "That is NOT a good excuse Papa. Please come with me right now so I can scold you properly."

Wow, you already put the tree up! How did you get it down from the attic tho?

 

"Nevermind all that. We need to talk about this years gift exchange."

WHAT?? Rei, I can't do that! We have new girls who haven't had a proper Christmas with us as a family yet.

 

"Trust me I know that and it is a little hard to tell you this. But they also decided that since you've already given them things earlier in the year, they do not need anything right now."

What brought this on Rei?

 

"Manami, Yoko and I know that you've had some tough times recently and you've been working hard to keep us happy as well as keep everything else going. We see how it has been for you and we agreed that you should get some type of break. I especially think that we do not need any grand gift exchange like we have had in the past."

Well, you're right about my job situation and such. And I've been stressed out too, I guess I haven't hidden it too well from you girls...

 

"No, you are not very good at that. But only the older girls have noticed it, the younger ones are still unaware."

 

I still think we should do something for Christmas tho....

"We also thought about that and Manami suggested that we keep up appearances for the MDD girls and Elisabeth since they all still believe in Santa. So we should still do stockings, just with nothing overboard."

 

That's a good idea. We don't want them to worry or think something bad is happening. But about all this hobby stuff the others are doing, what's up with that?

 

"It is nothing."

 

Come on Rei, all THAT is not nothing.

 

"Fine, it is something we are making for your present."

So exciting! I believe is saw the disembodied feet too. Loved the lab setup the girls had going on. was that a disassembled computer tower and hard-drive? I pretty much lost it when I saw the ground level sign they put up Chizuru looks fantastic in that outfit, such pretty red hair. It was pretty cute seeing her hide behind Rei.

 

Haha, Rei was too funny "Scolding" you. That was really sweet of all the girls to band together and decide to get you something for Christmas though.

Thank you so much! I'm VERY proud of them sacrificing their Christmas to make things easier for me. But I can't let them all get nothing at all so I'll figure something out to make up for no big presents. And thank you for saying I'm a good Papa. I do try to do whatever I can for them so seeing them react like this as a group is really great. They grow up so fast!

Thank you sir! I agree that having these girls around *is* a great thing in and of itself. And yes, how they all came to agree on such a thing is really impressive. I had no idea they'd pull something like this off! And you aren't the only one wondering what the heck is going on! But I can't do any snooping or else Rei will box me in the nose!

Hee hee, I would hope so but I've also seen some failed projects that are on par with Agatha attempts at science. Maybe not as explosive tho.... Anyways, please tell Nanoha that we won't be needing any assistance from Agatha this go around. Rei said she has things well in hand and the third phase of testing went above her expectations.... whatever THAT means.

Thank you! I was impressed with their headquarters too! Even tho I had no clue what was going on, it was neat to see them all busy and being focused on a task. I knew they all loved me but to go this far is really something.... I'm also excited to see what happens!

You know, even tho I was right there, I didn't even notice that! No wonder Sango was trying to cover that spot up! If they're doing new cloning experiments, I wonder who the parent DNA will be coming from? NOW I'm kinda worried about this gift!

Dang, how did I miss that? Maybe it's a feint by the girls to redirect focus on what was REALLY going on? And yes, that was the old computer I used to have as my desktop. Rei repaired it somehow and used it as her main drive for when she cloned Reiko. But now she has several more 500GB hard drives hooked up to it which means more computing power for who knows what....

 

That sign was funny tho, had I seen it before, I might have had a good laugh. But since I was getting reprimanded about NOT seeing it, it wasn't as funny at the time. And thanks about Chizuru! She's one of my most grown up girls and she's very good at being fashionable without going overboard. I really love her style.

Rei tends to be VERY good at her scoldings, whether it's me or one of her sisters. But that's why I put her in charge of the house when I'm away. I know she gets things done! And yes, I am super impressed with my girls and how grown up they're being about all this. I'll have to do something very nice for them all once I'm able to.

Yes, it's good that you let the MMD's, and Elisabeth, still get something for Christmas. If they didn't then you'd have to let me know so I could send them something. I wouldn't want to see any of them cry if there weren't any gifts. I imagine adorable little Kino would be especially susceptible to that.

 

I'm doing the same thing this Christmas as well; presents just for the kids. All the older gals (and myself) have more than enough. In fact, just having my gals is a year-round blessing for me.

Such a sweet story as always! It looks as if Chizuru can lie about as well as Tama-chan. I believe that something is afoot!

 

Personally I always liked the holidays better when it was spent with family doing stuff instead of just having lots of presents. Quality time is so much more valuable.

Heh, there's no way I could let the little ones and Elisabeth think Santa forgot them. I'd never hear the end of it from most of the older girls if I did! So don't worry, even if they only get stockings full of candy, they'll get something from Santa. That's nice of you to offer to send them stuff tho! And I agree with you about just spending time with the girls being a good present. I think we will all just enjoy each others company on Christmas and watch some "A Christmas Story" on TV.

Thank you very much! There are only one or two of my girls who can lie well enuff to fool me for a bit, all the others are terrible at it. And that's a good thing! Most of them don't even try to lie to me tho, they know it's better to just tell me the truth as I won't get nearly as upset, if at all. Presents are nice and all but the crazy time I had last year doing all those presents and all those pics pretty much burned me out on ever trying it again. It was so much easier and more fun with a smaller group of girls, it's become way too much now that I have so many. So just having the young ones enjoy some presents and everyone else sitting back and enjoying each others company will be a change of pace and hopefully relaxing.
