JolieMariella Posted December 24, 2013 Hello! So I just got my first ever Dollfie Dream H-01 head last week, and when I took it out and was looking her over...I couldn't seem to fit the head-cap onto her head? I'm new to DDs, so I'm not sure just how difficult it should be to get the top of her head on compared to a resin BJD (which are generally magnetized or have some sort of hooking mechanism). She has a hard head-cap, though it's still got that slight flexibility that vinyl has. Seems like no matter how I try to get it on, it just won't go! Is there some secret technique I don't know, or am I going to need to cut off some of that vinyl that hang down from the cap itself? I'll take some pictures tonight and post them, but if anyone has an answer before that I'd appreciate it >__<
baldylox Posted December 24, 2013 Hey there! Most often, the hard head caps have a little tiny line/mark on the back side to show where to line up the cap. There will be a corresponding mark on the back of the head as well. The hard caps can be quite the pain to get back on so you might have to warm it up with a hairdryer first to make it more flexible and easy to squish back in there. Also, if you get some scissors or an X-Acto knife, you can make "V" cuts on four sides of the cap before you put it back on. This makes it easier to flex the cap when reinstalling and taking off again later. All my girls with hard headcaps have this mod, it makes things so much easier when having to swap eyes and such later on. Hopefully that helps you out a bit. if not, I can take pics of the V cuts so you can see what I mean by that. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
