Averis Posted August 7, 2011 One of my main plans for my DDs is to use them as representations of characters that will be in a future webmanga I hope to start. When I saw Neris and Airy I knew they were perfect for what I wanted (and they are super cute). I'm still mulling over ideas for them, but that is part of the process I enjoy the most, so I'm taking my time. Things like names and personalities are still in flux as is the story for the manga itself. However, I have already started drawing some images of the main characters, which Neris and Airy will be / represent. I am guessing that the darker haired girl will be Neris and the other is Airy? I know you'll change their names but I was just wondering. The closeups of them in the first pic suggest that with the mouth on the girl to the right. That and the eyes and hair braid on the girl to the left suggest Neris to me. I love the second pic! Yup, Neris is the dark-haired one etc. I think the Neris character will be a bit more serious, stable and caring while the Airy character will be more carefree and emotional. I have been planning to start a new webmanga for over a year now (I'm slow). I had ideas in my head for that long. When I saw Neris and Airy I knew they would be great to represent those characters. So I tweaked the design a little so they match somewhat. I think the Neris character is fairly generic looking in the images, but I couldn't ignore the cute Airy smile. I love your designs! They are so adorable! There expressions are too cute! They need a kitty side kick or maybe a kitty villain to fight. Hehe, thanks! I'll have to think on the the kitty ideas. That by itself says a lot about the character They are pretty close friends. They will spend a lot of time working together. It will be interesting to see how they develop. Averis Posted January 6, 2012 Just to update this post, I have reached a point where my girls pretty closely resemble the characters I drew and intended them to be. There may be some adjustments I can still make, but I think they turned out pretty good. I also need to buy them school uniforms, but I'm waiting on that till I can sit down and figure out if I want to buy pre-made clothes or design my own and get someone to make them.
