One year with Melina

1 year ago I purchased my at the time one and only dream DD, the beautiful Rise Kujikawa Dollfie by Volks. For a long while I had her on my wantlist but I never expected myself to get a DD, simply because I at first didn't like them that much. But after meeting my bros Coffee and Migon I got to see a Dollfie for the first time IRL.

And I was in love.

I started saving up to one day buy Rises Dollfie, but everytime I started where I could buy her the price got me again. Spending so much on a doll?

Migon and Coffee kept sending me link after link with people selling Rises doll, and I missed one that was an amazing deal. After missing that deal I told myself "Next time they'll send me a link with someone who's selling Rise, I'll buy her! No second thoughts!" And thus I did~

 

Now 1 year later she's sitting at my desk as I'm typing this, and being as cute as always~ During this year I've changed her look back and forth, but now she's finally perfect. ♥

 

Since today turned out to be a very hectic day for my mentally I was left with no power to take any new photos of my gal. I'm sorry Melina ; ^ ; I thought that since I haven't shared many of my photos here I thought I should put together a little something at least to celebrate our year together. Sadly some of them are from my Instagram so they are a tad bit blurry.

 

 

This was the first photo I took of her, all dressed up~ When Melina arrived my boyfriend had suffered from a terrible day at work so he had to take a nap. And since our apartment only have one room I had to unbox her in the dark, so no unboxing photos was never taken. ; ^ ;

At first I planned a much more pastelstyle for her. I wanted her to dress in cute fairy-kei clothes so we could have matching outfits, but somewhere along the way I abandoned that idea.

Since I also wanted her to cosplay as Takane Manaka from Love Plus the first wig I ever bought for her was a brown one. It looked surprisingly nice on her and ever since then I was dead set on her as a brunette.

T-the love for the Professor runs in the family, eh~? (─‿‿─);;

It was very troublesome to find good eyes for her. Since the Rise doll have smaller eyes than many other DD's it was very hard to find good eyes that also fitted her eye sockets.

This picture is from one of our local meetups, where Melina had the opportunity to borrow some clothes and wigs from my lovely friends Waha and Yama~ I still like her very much in this haircolour, but it somehow feels off and not her?

After a long search I finally found the perfect eyes for her~ My friend Coffee won a bunch of eyes from Y!A, and she kept these because she thought they would look good on Melina. Little did I know she was totally right. (｡♥ ‿ ♥｡)

I have finally tracked down her style and now I couldn't imagine changing a single thing on her. ♥ I'm so glad I finally purchased her because I've been able to have so much fun and gained so many new friends thanks to her.

Sadly Melina didn't get any presents this year, but she doesn't seem to down in the dumps about it. After all her friend Janice is on her way~ (✿◠‿◠)
