Anime/game made you loose interest in Holy DD Grail/unicorn?

I actually don't know who most of the dd girls are save for Kan'u and Ryoumou from Ikki Tousen, Rei and Asuka of Eva, and Haruhi. xD I get my girls because they're pretty and catch my attention to turn into OCs.

 

That being said, viewing the source material wouldn't make me lose interest in the doll. Most source material used for DD concepts I'm not quite interested in any way xD

I agree with jadepixel that I enjoyed how SAO started, but the following season was a real let down that I couldn't get into. I felt SAO had a lot of potential that wasn't realized.

Just curious... when jadepixel mentioned the second season of SAO, she was referring to the second cour, the ALO episodes. Were you referring to that? Since she posted that (last January!) there's been an actual second season of SAO, which in the end focused on Asuna's character quite a lot…

Oh, I did mean Alfheim. I haven't seen any of the GGO episodes yet. Thanks for the info!

Oh, yeah, I meant the latter half of season 1, the Alfheim arc.

The new SAO season 2 is pretty good! There's an arc in the middle that feels like the same meh as the Alfheim arc, same sexist humor and harem vibe and everything. But fortunately it's short! The first arc is good, and the last arc is focused entirely on Asuna and giving her some well-deserved character development. I was honestly surprised with what they did with the story, and it definitely redeemed Asuna for me. If they decide to release her blue-haired elf version I'd give her a fair chance :3

I felt the same! I think in SAO whenever a character is out of the main focus, they become kinda rubbish. Shinon was great until the second arc, like what the heck. And Asuna, who was 'meh' for so long, started shining again in that last arc. If they make more seasons of SAO, I hope they can handle the characters better...

I remember when Rin Shibuya came out and I looked over Volks pictures, obviously cute doll but did not think much of it. It was not until Volks released a picture of upcoming Mio and Uzuki that I saw a actual picture of Rin and I was like who is that? Now I really got to get her. When I found it I had also been around episode 5 of the Cinderella Girls anime and after seeing how cool Rin is in that it made me want it more even though that really should not be a factor. I got hit with a double whammy.

Sadly, this happens to me way to often. When I first got into DDs, Escalayer was my Grail, but then I saw the OVA. I learned that it's better to look at the sculpt not the character source. The only DD I haven't lost intrest in is Miku, probably because you can make her however you see fit.
