Volks announces new Dollfie line

EDIT:The discontinued standard models are going to have a new lineup of standard models, but this is unrelated to this new Dollfie lineup, according to the staff. Added this to clear confusions.

 

Hey guys.

 

I went to Dolls Party 30 AKA JoyFes during my winter break! I had alot of fun, and bought a new outfit set for Hizuru

 

Anyways, at Dolpa, I picked up the mini Volks News, which announces new stuff, such as dried roses for your dolls, one-off Dollfie Dreams to be made, renovation of Tenshi no Sato and whatnot.

 

There was one news which made me extremely curious. Which was that they will release a new Dollfie series. When I talked to some of the staff, including the SD doctor (Who fixes minor Super Dollfie issues for you.), they said that they don't know if it is going to be 1/6th Dollfie, Super Dollfie or Dollfie Dream related, so there are absolutely no details about it until time comes.

My personal guess is a new base body. But my biggest hope is that it is a male DD body. It may not be a DD but a brother series which uses the same system like DDs. I made this guess because Volks staff has acknowledged the big request for male DDs (The staff even asked me who I want to make. ) (Oh. and be sure they have white and semi-white! )

Hahaha wallet. So true. Considering I am gonna be a college student in a few months. ._.;

 

Lucky I have saved up alot so whenever there is a male DD, I am gonna be on "shut up and take my money" mode xDD

I saw the title and was like "is this a dream? Propaganda maybe?" Lol. It may not be a Dollfie Dream, but until we know, I'm super curious. Hope it's something I like

personally i hope it is a male DD line as i know i wont want them so wont want to spend monies on them >_

I would be super excited if it's a new model of Dollfie Dream being release but I'm a little sceptical of that only because Volks recently retired their standard collections of SD. So I feel like it will be related to that as opposed to DD. That being said, I hope they prove me wrong!

Well, good news is they already announced that they will release new standard collections, and it is separate from the new Dollfie Line! Hope that relieves a bit. ^_^

Oh that does make things more interesting! If they're revealing new SD's already than I'm even more intrigued!

Hm. Volks has nearly discontinued their 1/6th lines. So whether that's on the table or not depends on *why* they were discontinued. If it was because they just weren't popular, then there's little chance this new line is in that scale. On the other hand, if it was because they jumped the gun in anticipation of a revamp, then it's entirely possible. I hope it's the former, because I am just not into 1/6 scale dolls, and would be a little disappointed every time something cool came out for the line since I wouldn't be able to use it.

 

Still, some individual Volks employees have acknowledged there's demand for 1/3 scale vinyl boys, so it is a possibility. Plus look at all the sales and attention the Obi65 boy body gets! So it's not entirely implausible. I hope this is what they're working on!

 

Knowing Volks usual MO, they're probably going to kick off the line with a couple of limited edition releases, whatever the line is. And I kind of suspect they'll be licensed characters to rope in the most attention possible. Wish we had more hints as to what the line is so we could better speculate who they're likely to make.

Considering the extinction of 1/6th dollfies (There haven't been any limited editions of them.), and how they don't really restock much of the 1/6th dollfie supplies like SDs and DDs, I think the chance of a 1/6th is extremely low.

 

Yes. The Obi65 is going quite popular. I think the male DD would be a good rival brand for it. :3

 

Well, if they are gonna kick in with licensed charas, my guess is boys like Kirito, or bishonen characters from popular otome games like Hakuouki. Another potential chance is .hack series since they have collabed with NBGI before (Xenosaga), well its me.

From my understanding, it doesn't sound like they are releasing a new skin tone for existing dolls. As the pamphlet says "A new being is coming".

My guess is going to be a new 1/6 line, to compete with PureNeemo, Busou shinki, Pullip, etc. They have already experimented with the big-headed Yo-Midi dolls.
