Volks announces new Dollfie line

I'm also a straight male and would really like the idea of male DD's. Although I prefer the female line it would be really cool to see some of my favourite male characters as DDs and the funny, cute or just awesome photo's that could be taken. eg Kyon DD getting beat up by a Haruhi DD, or Asuna and Kirito side by side with their hands locked together, or maybe an Archer DD looking badass on a field of swords.

 

I think with male DD's there could be some really cool customs and much potential for creativity.

 

I actually think it's kinda weird how some guys don't want giant action figure's of their favourite male characters but rather just the cute moe female dolls I think if guys are comfortable enough to have dolls of cute moe girls then I don't really see how male DD's would suddenly make them feel uncomfortable unless they have some fantasy about their dolls being their girlfriends and the idea of a male DD shatters it? I dunno, sounds a bit weird to me but you can just ignore the male versions or pretend they're by another company if it helps?

 

I know some owners might want to make their own OC anime boys and I'm probably not so much interested in that but I can't see how I would be offended by it. O~O There's already plenty of male resin doll pics on the internet which can be cool but I'm not really that big about resin dolls in general. If there happens to be another type of male doll I don't think it will make any great change.

Volks did a "new" SD resin line, the SD bisque. I can't say if it was the announced new line or not.

I read here something about a new DD line too. I really hope for a new DD line with boys

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the 'pure skin bisque' one-offs just the same old volks sculpts made in bisque instead? I'm pretty sure they're not considered to be a new line...

 

In other news, I'm still hoping for DD boys myself even though I really don't mind that my Inaho will be on the Obitsu 65 (I love that body sculpt!) and Nagito will be utilizing the SS bust on the regular DD body.

That's kind of what their resin line is already though. And since it's already possible to put resin heads on DD bodies I think it would be a bit of a shame to go with that rather than something completely new like a male DD line.

I emailed Volks about the the new line they were suggesting from the from booklet last Christmas and included the image of the page in the opening post, asking;

dolls and again there was a small mention in the following Volks News

So yeah looks like no plans for Male DD's just yet or at least that wasn't what was being hinted at in this case. Sorry guys but I do think they may eventually make male DD's in the future since there does seem to be demand.

Personally I'm not too disappointed by this. I have a fair amount of fun trying to figure out my "franken boys." It has been somewhat clear for a while that it probibly wasn't DD guys. Volks can be dumb about some things but I figured they would have said something by now so we would throw more money at them.

Awwww, bummer to not having a new dollfie dream line, but the new sd's are cute, and even though I'm not really paying attention to sd Dollfies, it's good that they got a new line/model
