Loveseat for DD!

Recommended Posts

NekoMama

I'm currently in the middle of a project making a simple loveseat with under storage, and was wondering who would be interested in pictures of my progress or a tutorial. *note, I've never written a tutorial before, so I took a zillion pictures so far to keep track of what the heck I'm doing. I would organize, downsize and narrate what the steps are if anyone is interested.

I've made a DD couch already, but even so I'd love to see how someone else did a similar project! I love looking at pictures too.

Yes, I would like to see the progress/tutorial.

I sometimes think I might start building my own furniture and props because it is very difficult to find appropriately sized doll items. So it would be nice to see how it can be done.

All right, I've had enough interest, I'll get my deviant art page sorted and get something put together soon.

It's not the prettiest tutorial but it's all done by me!

*not allowed to post link. Edit so it makes a proper link please.

Here's a link for ya! NekoMama's Love Seat Part 1

Took me a moment to figure out why when I tried to paste the link in my browser that it kept asking me if I wanted to search for it.

No worries NekoMama, you only need 20 posts before you can post links and have access to PMs.

I'm really interested in seeing the finished couch!

Here's a sofa that i made some time ago... gathering dust...

I read the original replies, it was cleverly done! But how in the world did you get scrap IKEA supplies , such as the fabric and backing? I just have to make do with WalMart stuff, since I don't have a reliable ride anywhere else, which means I have to walk to Hobby Lobby to try to find the round foam bit for the arms

If anybody is wondering about my progress, I've put it on hold until I can both find a piece of foam tubing locally and I get my first doll home. I'm looking at it with my paper doll sized measurement, and I'm a little concerned about the seating height once I get a 1 inch piece of foam down for the cushion. It looks like it might boost her feet off the floor a bit, so if I have to make height modifications, I'd rather do them at this stage then after I've done major gluing.

I just got my doll in yesterday, and my son is sick, not leaving me much time to get stuff done. I did post the progress up to date, and I will start working on it again as soon as I get her sized on it and see if I can find some foam tubing at the hardware store. I don't have my own car, so shopping isn't always on my own schedule. I'm estimating a few days to get measured and supplied, then another week or so to get some progress going from where I've got it currently.
