UsagiTeatime Posted September 1, 2014 I wanna throw in a little update for myself here because of a few leaps I have taken! I am now the proud mommy of 2 full DDs and I have a head on layaway, I have 1 resin head left and that is only because I could never bring myself to part with him. I feel that I have matured a great deal and have almost completely left the Resin hobby. I feel more comfortable and welcome here. I am excited to learn and grow here with all of you. Now, if only I could remove ALL the stains on Chie I'll be great. MyGoldenBelle Posted September 7, 2014 I'm really hoping that the transition is easy. I love resin dolls and always will but it would be super nice to have some different dolls in my collection. I think they bring a whole new dynamic to doll collecting and customisation. I know the resin world can be pretty hostile but honestly I don't really care what anyone else thinks DD's are awesome! galatia9 Posted September 8, 2014 I won't be trading in my resin BJDs, because I have way too much time, money and love tied up in therm. BUT... I love my Dollfie Dreams and hope they can settle in here as nicely as my resins. Some differences I've noticed: I don't have nearly enough clothes for the DDs yet. They're really a different size than SDs, I find them more petite. Their style is very different too. I think I would prefer the DDs to be dressed more like anime characters. I want the girls to be cuter! I haven't got indepth characters for my DDs either, like I do for most of my resins. I am not sure, but they don't seem to lend themselves to that in my house. Miki (my DDH-06) seems to like hanging around my resin boys, but the other DDs don't seem to be so inclined, and really, I don't feel my DDs display effectively with my resins. I originally planned something for my DDs to do in my resin characters' world, but that would have worked only if I had two DDs, and now I have six! (They multiplied too fast!) I also have a harder time deciding what I want my blank DDs to look like. My ideas for them are less clear, because I am not sure what to do with them. Generally, I think I am still getting used to having the DDs, and I am trying to figure out how they fit in. Yukamina Posted September 8, 2014 I actually think my DDs look very nice next to my resin boys :D I never felt the need to switch from one style/material to another, I love both. My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt
atomicwombat Posted December 11, 2014 I collect resin and DD (currently 6 resins and 2 dd) and I've found I like and enjoy my DDs more for some reason! I'm a weirdo, I like every DD that's NOT an existing character XD
MileenaAngel Posted December 18, 2014 I collect resin and DD (currently 7 resins and 2 dd) and so far I've found I like and enjoy my DDs more. Plus they're so light~ DDs are just fun
Razzy Posted December 31, 2014 I've owned a large number of resin dolls and just got my first DD. It's pretty strange for me, since I'm so used to resin dolls, but I feel so much more comfortable with my DD, and she holds poses much better too!
KonekoHime Posted February 4, 2015 Same as the some I started my doll collection with pullips then comes a resin doll Though never in my life have I though of getting a DD cos of their umm high price... atomicwombat Posted June 20, 2015 I have an update: I sold all my resins to buy liscened anime character DD's. I have Miku and love her, and two more on the way....plus a shelfful of custom ones. I'm much happier as I was constantly bullied in the resin hobby. Everyone here is so nice.
GreenDragon Posted June 22, 2015 I sold off all of my larger resin bjd's and just kept the tinies, (Fairyland Puki's, ect) For whatever the reason the larger resin dolls were so serious and I much prefer the cheerfulness of the vinyl DD and MDD's Like my tiny resin dolls the vinyl girls just make me happy in a carefree sort of way.
