chien Posted January 23, 2014 For inspiration, I headed to Volks' website to look at their painted DDH-07's. Upon seeing the photo above, I thought, "Eren Jaeger." Then my second thought was, "Man or woman, though?" Fem!Eren has been a thing for a while now, and I think she's adorable. For those who haven't seen the design yet, Isayama-sensei drew this sketch of Eren as a woman a while back: Those who have been keeping up with the manga may remember this page from chapter 53, too. Anyway, bottom line is that Fem!Eren is adorable-- but so is Dude!Eren too! My challenge is that I want to paint an Eren that would work as both presentations, and also use the same body for both. In my opinion, there's really no reason to have separate bodies. Fem!Eren is no different from usual Eren-- still just as skinny and malnourished (though probably muscular-- considering how Mikasa's and Christa's bodies appear) as he was as a man. The only difference would be the bust part then, as Fem!Eren does have a somewhat pronounced bust. Anyways, what do you guys think? I'm considering a DDS body with a S/M bust + Ob60 male bust. Since my sewing abilities are ehhhh, I want to get this outfit from Taobao since they have it in "Eren" colors too (I guess the shirt will be different?). However, Eren seems to be wearing a button-up like Mikasa when drawn as a woman, so perhaps I'll get the Mikasa set and just an Eren shirt. Does anyone know if an Ob60 male bust would work with a DDS body? I've seen it on a DD body and it looked fine, but I don't know about how it'd appear on a DDS body. Anna-neko Posted January 24, 2014 so just a heads up on the outfit u linked I have that outfit set, tho mine came from a different site from-sen.com .... (PS, that taobao seller just slapped their watermarks on the clean pictures that seem to be originally from that site, or so it appears) Anyway, so the outfit! its freakin fantastic, but the belts on DD-S will be a lil awkward on the top. The side-bust belts will stick out funny 'cause the torso is now shorter ... and the leg belts will be a pain and a half to get on legs correctly.... because the thigh-to-knee are premade loops so it takes some twisting (and toes popping off) to get it just right but omg, the blouse is amazing, 'cause it actually has buttonholes! No snaps here, there are real buttons to put thru real buttonholes oh, and that site makes the outfit in SD sizes! They have a super-hot Levi doll showing that off
chien Posted January 24, 2014 !!! Thank you so much for the info about the outfit. I super appreciate the help. That's a shame that the proportions may not be right for DDS then-- perhaps I should stick with DD, or get a SD-sized body in vinyl (like Obitsu65 boy). I'm going to go check out the site now to see the super hot Levi, because Heichou.
Anna-neko Posted January 24, 2014 I'll just leave this link here http://www.from-sen.com/shopdetail/003007000369/ct156/page1/order the belts in person are all sorts of neat... The high-thigh pairs are separate from the rest of harness so you can align high or low as you like. and omg the cape... I've never seen iron transfers on velvet and it doesn't sound like a good idea but these people make it work!
chien Posted January 24, 2014 That looks amazing! Thank you so much for the photo. I'm so excited now.
Amara77 Posted April 6, 2014 I ordered the uniform for my OC DD so I'm super excited now. That's to bad it won't fit the DDS body because you could have used Chihaya's body which would work for both Erens. I can't wait to see him done! I've been toying with making a Levi too, but I think I would have to have a custom head made as there aren't any DD style heads that would work. http://amara77.wordpress.com blog and shop Spoke too soon.... chien Posted April 8, 2014 Wehhhh you're right!!! It really is too bad-- maybe Volks will come out with a SS bust for the taller girls soon? Fingers crossed! The slim hips for DDS would have been nice, though. uwu I think maybe a DDH-07 with its eyes closed more using epoxy would work, perhaps? Or even one of the SQ Lab heads. Levi isn't Levi without his lidded, "Eat shit" face, lol.

My problem is the cheeks are to full for Levi IMO Modding the eyes is a good idea though! how well can the vinyl be sanded down? I really feel like I need a Levi in my life haha http://amara77.wordpress.com blog and shop Spoke too soon....
chien Posted April 10, 2014 Vinyl is pretty easy to sand down! You just need to finish it with a different grade of sandpaper than with resin. I find vinyl easier to work with too, as it's much better for lopping off large amounts of material with, haha! If you sand too roughly, it gets a bit weird though-- basically, the vinyl doesn't become powder in the same way that resin does. So I sand finer than I usually would for the roughing-out-the-shape parts. I found that vinyl is easier for me to polish though as it's lighter in my hands and a bit squishy. Heichooouuuu. Maybe a closed eye head would be a good start so that you can pile the epoxy material on top of it and then carve. I find taking away stuff is easier than building up stuff. I'm trying to figure out how I want to prioritize this project too. Do I want skinny Eren? Cute, somewhat curvy girl Eren? Do I want to go with an Obitsu body?!?! So many questions.
