Eustia Posted January 27, 2014 Hi. I have a reasonable anime/game figure collection, and have now come to the point where I am quite positive I want to step up to Dollfies. I've been trying very hard not to for several years, but my resistance has worn out. Since aftermarket dolls are so expensive, I have been planning to make one of my own as my first, by getting a "generic" Dollfie from Volks, and buying an appropriate wig, eyes and clothing. I need to contact some people I know who may be able to help me out with the outfit before I end up actually committing to taking the plunge, though. I thought I would get my feet wet in this community before I end up finally caving and spending untold amounts of money on these glorious girls. I will have plenty of questions, I'm sure. So I hope people around here will be patient with people entirely new to the Dollfie world (I've never even had Barbies or any kind of action figures). Welcome, Eustia! You will find everyone here is totally wonderful about answering any questions you might have about anything at all related to the DD world. I never knew anything about DD's, figures, or even anything about anime when I joined the forum but there is so much information and sharing here that there isn't anything you can't find out about if you just ask...and everyone is very patient and understanding when you do ask! This place certainly seems like a great resource -- I've known about it for a while, and vaguely browsed it a few times but trying to save myself the thousands of dollars I know I will end up spending once I step over this threshold, I had held myself back from joining. I'm not making the financial commitment until I can nail down getting an outfit, since it really hinges on it to make the character, so I'm looking around a bit. I know a local sewing group I can probably get to do it, though I am keeping options open and may have to just commission somebody online instead. I am in partners with two awesome seamstress and we been doing all kinds is commissions for dollfies and cosplays. I stepped out of the dollfie scene to focus on cosplays and art . But I decided to come back to it because I miss the community. And yes, my seamstresses have made most of the outfits you see.
