Question about Studio Back Drop Kits

Recommended Posts

Winterplane

I was poking around on Ebay and I was interested in buying one to take more model like pictures of my DD but the cheapest one that I found was like 10ft by 20ft , I have nowhere to put something that size so was wondering if anyone has one that is more scaled to the 1 3 size or at least half that size ( and where did you buy it?) Maybe they are adjustable ? because I don't need that much space.

If you are looking for a portrait shoot, "table top studio" is the keyword to search on eBay. They normally comes as a set including 40-50cm cubic tent with interchangeable backgrounds that can be folded flat + 2 lights. This is a perfect studio setup for 1/6 scale figures. For a full body shoot, I think you might have to DIY with the background. You can still make use of the lighting equipments from the set mentioned though.

There are adjustable ones that will go between 10ft & 5ft wide, and between 6ft and 2.5ft tall, and they typically run in the $30 - $50 range. Try looking for "adjustable backdrop stand" on eBay, Amazon, etc. You can also look on Etsy for plans for DIY kits using PVC piping, if you want to make your own custom size.

Thank you nogo17 and Cauldroness!

I think I will probably have to make a background myself, so I think I will see how to make one out of pvc.

If not I don't mind just buying one on amazon or something, I just didnt want one that was 20ft X 10 ft XD Thank you guys!

You can try searching for 1/3 bjd backgrounds on eBay and that should turn up a couple. They're usually around 17 to 25 dollars shipping not yet included and you can message them to see if they'll do combined shipping which they usually do.
