DefectiveAngel Posted August 13, 2011 I just wonder what the chances would be on Volks releasing a Tokugawa Sen (Sen-Hime) from Hyakka Ryouran? I know Azone already has her in the works, but I would love it so much more if Volks made a Sen-Hime as a DD. If they did that I would purchase her so fast it would make your head spin. I think Sen-Hime has a wonderful character design and would make a gorgeous DD. If they did I think Volks should create her with the shapely L bust like Beato, or a Dddy body would be fine too. That would be just so amazing if she would be one of the new dollfie dreams released at Dolpa 26. Or even a new version of Natsuki would be a perfect idea. Volks really needs to try and get some license agreements worked out with some other shows/games to help vary up their releases. But if that is the case then maybe this might show promise of a new Natsuki. The new version of Alna was released when Saber Lily was, so maybe, just maybe they may do the same for Natsuki. I'm even a fan of Saber and the Fate series but my reaction was basically "Another Saber, already? Bleh." as well. I would rather they had done a different character. I wonder if the headmold will be different than Lily's? I am not very familiar with the game, but Saber/Extra seems to be of a different nature than Lily or the original Saber. But DefectiveAngel, I totally see your point. If I was not so interested in getting a Saber I would be rather unenthusiastic, for the simple reason that new headmold or not, all that armor makes for a very pricey DD. If you can do more Sabers, *why* can't you do a Rider? Or the others you mentioned? ANY of those would be infinitely more interesting than yet another Saber variant. It's just not a surprise to get Saber anymore... And THAT is what can kill off a hobby... just ask Hasbro. Constantly reissuing certain Star Wars figures only glutted the market and caused them all to fall in price. Granted, Hasbro isnt doing limited editions or lotteries but still. Too much of anything causes problems in a given hobby. And now that there will be yet another Saber, she won't have the same air of mystique that she used to. I mean, it's not like Saber is any less nice or beautiful.... she's a great DD and I wouldn't mind having an original one. But she just doesn't have that same "feel" to her now that everyone has a Lily. And with another version coming, it will seem even less a thrill. Well, to me anyways. Who knows... if this new Saber has that red dress done well and her face is more like the original, maybe I'll finally get off my butt and try for one. I do love that red dress on her..... The other armored Sabers have been quite a bit more $ than other character DDs so it will be nice to see a more affordable one come out (she only has armor on her lower leg so logically the price shouldn't be so high.) While I would just about loose my cool for an Original Saber DD, she's way out of my price range so I'm happy they are releasing Extra. I just wish she was Arthur Saber and not Nero, but beggars can't be choosy. :/ A Fate/Zero Saber would be better. It "seems" like everyone has a Saber Lily because I frequent lots of sites where photos are shared of new girls. And when Lily came out, she was everywhere. But even after the initial pics were made all over, she seemed to continue to pop up. So it just seemed like a lot of people had her. I don't have one and only one or two of my close friends do. So I know she is rarer than a Yukino or Aoi would be. All I meant was that as far as Saber's go, Lily is the most prominent of them due to more exposure and probably higher quantities of her being made compared to Alter and the original. I'm not talking down about any of them at all... I like all of them quite a bit. I'm with you on an original.... I'd love one but know I'll never be able to afford one. So having another chance to get a different one is nice and if the price is decent I may even try for one. BUT, on another angle, it would have been cooler *in my opinion* to have them introduce a Rider DD or a Medea Caster in either form, human or kitsune. But you bring up a really good point I didn't think about until you mentioned it. Saber being popular is good but having her bring new people into the collecting world of the DD is a really good thing. New blood is what keeps a hobby alive so Volks is being smart by doing this. They can sell plenty of them and introduce new people to the rest of the DD lineup. Sorry if I sounded rude before, I just couldn't get my point across well. Here is the chart featured on Volks official After School Akihabara page I bet there is a good chance that Nanami will be a DDS, then again she might be the first After School Akihabara girl that is a MDD. I'm really curious to see her finished version. But I'm still disappointed I was hoping for a new version of Natsuki, not just a little sister version. I'm probably coming off as too direct if anything. No need to apologize. I'm sorry if I made you feel like you needed to The likelihood of them making a Caster or Rider is not that high IMO. They've chosen characters that have high billing in the list of characters. Saber, Rin, and Sakura have routes in the VN and Ilya's part is large (plus she gives them the chance to make a DDS character). Like with Shining Hearts, they chose main girls over girls that would make great DDs. A Xiao-Mei DD would have been very cute but she's just not as important in the game as Neris or Airy. They pick stuff that will sell, and that's not a bad thing even if it means some cool characters don't get made. The licensing of big bill characters shouldn't be to harshly criticized because lord knows there are a lot more people interested in buying these dolls because they released characters like Yoko and Saber.
