Honestly, I think shes is gonna look sad in any wig and that's exactly what I expected in all the promo pics she has still the sad brows and that expression, Just the lips in the promo pics we're brighter >.>.

I think Mariko will satisfy the moe gap in my dollfie dream line up perfectly (both of my current girls have more mature faceups)! And I still want to experiment with different eyes for her. Just imagine what she'd be like in a Tudor era green dress and a long, brown wig! I can't wait the International lottery to open now.

Hello! Can anyone tell me if I need to register a user account at the Volks International website before I can enter the lottery? (if it happens)

 

I am a bit unsure after reading a few of their FAQs.

 

EDIT: aha, alas, *sob* ignore all my questions...

 

I just filled out a duty and import VAT calculator. Previously I had thought I'd only have to pay ~£600 in total, but it's actually closer to £750 due to UK's high VAT and various charges. My savings aren't enough, so looks like I'll be missing the lovely Mariko after all Ah well, great DD beauty comes at a great DD price, so this may give me time to save for the next release, who will possibly be a doll I like even more- I can hope!

 

And while I am hoping, VOLKS! open up an EU store already!!!!!

I'm confused... The prices on the Japanese site and the International site are the same.

 

Let's use Mariko-sensei as an example.

 

The Japanese site lists:

価格：\54,000（税込\56,700）where the price in brackets is including the taxes.

 

And the international site lists:

Price : 56,700yen (with fee)

 

So the price is the same...

 

 

Volks USA has always had lower prices on the dolls than the Japanese and International sites because of how the exchange rate has been over the last few years.

Volks USA's prices have always varied from the actual exchange rate. Years ago when the US$ was stronger, it was quite a bit cheaper to buy in JPY from the international site, and people complained about how Volks USA was more expensive. Needless to say, their pricing is looking much better these days with the horrible exchange rate.

Yup, swings and roundabouts! However, I think the Volks price for Mariko is good, and if she were available for that price and shipping in the EU I'd snap her up! Mental note made to save extra next time
