The head and face-up are completely different from the original and while she's cute, it doesn't have the charm that the original does, so I'll be passing on her. I only used a thumb tack for piercing Rise and Melty's ears and I had no trouble with either, the vinyl is soft enough and it leaves the perfect size hole for the earring.
