I got an email from We Love Dolls yesterday

 

Saying you got her? That was late!

I had heard WLD got some dolls from Volks after all.

 

But I didn't get an email. Them's the breaks.

Got email from WLD late yesterday as well. Grats, klein.

I also received an email from We Love Dolls...and Illya will be my 43rd girl. I guess patience is a virtue.

I guess it is 'confession' time for me! I wanted to do a little intro. story but things have been so nuts at work over the past month or so (and will be for about another month) that I just can't wait any longer to tell.

I won Illya (now called Cassandra -- "Cassy" for short) and her alternate outfit in the lottery...and most of the fault isn't mine! I wasn't all that taken with her in the first Volks pics. and wasn't planning to enter but then I saw some of the pics that were posted from people who had her already and thought "Gee, she is kinda cute!" I have never, ever won anything -- a raffle, a lottery, a charity draw, nothing ever in my life! My husband and I were talking just before the lottery cut off time and I was showing him some of the pics. of her and saying that she looked much more cute than in the "official picture" so he said something like "So you're going to try for her then? You can't win if you don't enter!!" I said "Nope! I never win anyways and it would just stress me out so I'm not going to bother. Besides, we don't need another girl." Well he kept teasing me and challenging me about not entering just because I've never won anything so eventually I said "O.K. Just to prove to you that I never win, I'm going to enter right now." It was like about 15 minutes before the lottery entries were going to close! While I was on the site entering, he was still teasing me and laughing and then he said "Well, if you never win anyhow, you might as well enter for the outfit too!" So I did, just to prove my point!

I have to admit that I never stayed up late to wait for an email and, in fact, I didn't even check my email until later the next day. I knewthere wouldn't be anything there from Volks so I wasn't in a hurry to check. When I opened my email and saw the Volks subject line, I was totally shocked!! Then right away, I thought how funny that I would win the outfit but not Illya! I must have read the email that said I had won both about four times before I called my husband to come read it just to be sure I really was reading it right! He cracked up and hasn't let me live it down since then because I finally won something! Cynic that I am, I must say that I didn't tell a soul about winning her until I had her in my hands because I still believed she wouldn't actually arrive! When they knocked on the door, holding that big box, I could barely sign my name to the receipt!! I could probably win the award for the fastest box opening ever because I think I had her in my hands in less than 5 minutes!! She's barely been out of my sight since then and she has fit in perfectly with the rest of our "family."

Once things slow down around here, in about a month or so, watch for some pics. and stories! I just couldn't wait any longer to tell everyone that Cassy is here and we love her!!

And thanks, everyone. I did finally manage to cobble together a few minutes to take a couple of pictures of Cassy outside with Candy and my new lily while it was still blooming! Once the end of June rolls around, though, be prepared for an absolute flood of new pictures!

I totally agree. I got Holly for Christmas (custom...and no, I can't remember her head type because all of that just confuses me! I'll figure it out eventually, I hope!! LOL) and now we're up to four -- Holly, Faith, Candy, & Cassy!! We haven't even finished introducing our other girls and now we have three more waiting for their 'formal' introductions to forum members!!!
