SOLVED! Can you identify this location/anime?

So maybe this is a bit too OT for the OT section but here goes...

Stumbled upon this picture from Kamakura, Japan, the other day:

冬日の桜木花道君

Maybe not so exiting, just a railroad crossing by the sea (picture description says "@ Japan Enoshima Electric Railway station before Kamakura high school") but I just can't get it out of my head. I'm fairly certain that I've seen this particular location in an anime... I just can't figure out which one and for some reason it's driving me nuts.

Anyone else recognize this location an remember if it's been used in an anime and if so which one? It's something aboutthat slanted stone wall on the left that makes the location so familiar...

Probably "the Girl who leapt through time" or BRS, maybe.

The most recent one I watched having railroad by the sea should be Tari Tari from last year. A specific scene of Sawa got very popular on internet because of some "clever" text setting from fan sub - if you know what I'm talking about lol

It's not easy to relate to any specific anime because for us who don't live in Japan, we mostly only see railroad through anime so whenever we see railroads, we always think of anime. Long ago I always thought railroad crossing was an invention of anime lol.

If you are interested in anime background, you can try this blog. In anime characters might be fiction but events and places are always real. http://likeafishinwater.com/category/weekly-review-of-transit-place-and-culture-in-anime/

At home Haruka (Haruka Niimi), Akira (Akira), Saber (Saber Alter), Madoka (Madoka SQ-Lab), Rise (Rise Kujikawa), Yukiho (Yukiho Hagiwara) & Touka (DDH-07)

Thanks for linking to my blog! The station is actually called "In front of Kamakura HS", though this is less verbose and more natural sounding in Japanese (Kamakurakokomae). You've seen it in "Tari Tari".

Oh! You're welcome and thanks for the info!

/me checks... Yep, indeed! Tari Tari, epsiode 3 @ 07:18.

Looks like Kamakura is quite popular as an anime setting:

No doubt. Aiura was mostly Kamakura, and Love Hina was Kanagawa coast-ish. I swear more than half of the random fanservice "beach episodes" are there too!

Oh how I love Aiura! I was about to say Aiura if it wasn't Tari Tari that the OP looked for . There was an incredible amount of background details in this show despite being a 4 koma format run. I will always remember the scene in first episode with the kids sitting in some kind of trolley, going to school. Never seen such things in my life.

Glad that sleepywolf has your answer otherwise it will be itching for sure lol.

And sorry for being a silent reader tokyowanderer, your blog has made my anime watching experience more excited when I can often say to myself "Ah, I know this place", even though I've never been to Japan ...

Oh, and I love the kindergarten trolley too. That, and the little yellow hats on kids learning to walk to school. Independent mobility starts very early for Japanese children.
