Why don't Volks sell complete white or semi-white bodies?

I've ordered one of their Yukino pre-made character dolls, though intend to fully customise her to make her my own character, however I am already thinking about more girls I may make, and I would quite like a semi-white body for the next one... but it seems I'd have to buy all of the individual parts and attempt to build one from scratch. I'm not confident I would be able to do that, so it leaves me wondering... why don't Volks simply sell complete white or semi-white bodies?

 

Also, what's the deal with heads? They come completely unpainted for people to do them as they please? I'm not sure what to do about that, since I lack the ability to do such things.

 

Is there a way to get completed white or semi-white bodies (no outfits etc) outside of paying absurd aftermarket prices? How do people around here handle doing these things?

For the heads, it is meant for customization. You can search Y!J for customized head to purchase. A couple of them are uploaded daily so wait till you see one that you like. You can always find artists to do the makeup for unpainted heads. It will probably be more expensive since you have to ship to the artist and have it shipped back (not counting the head shipped to you from volks).

I guess I'm going to have to learn how to browse YJA then. I had no idea such was on there, though, so thanks for the heads up!

They've literally only just released DDIII NS bodies for sale as a whole. Until now you either bought them in parts or waited to participate in a split, which is when someone wants a doll's head but doesn't need/can't pay for the fullset. If you want a complete SWS body, you'll probably have to wait for a fullset character to be released and get in on a split. Or maybe a new release will call to you and you end up buying a fullset yourself.

 

But building a body from parts really isn't that hard. You'll have to learn to disassemble and reassemble your girls for maintenance at some point anyway. There's a guide in the newbie section I think for how to assemble a body.

It is really easy to assemble a doll from scratch, My 2nd came in pieces! My only gripe of lack of base bodies is when that one part is out of stock and you have to put the whole project on hold

It seems they offer semi white base bodies now.

Volks offers complete semi-white bodies now, but they still don't offer complete white bodies. I kinda wish they did because I'm too afraid to assemble one myself.

This is a rather old topic. I know they sell semiwhite bodies now; I bought one a few months ago. White I believe I heard they have essentially discontinued?

So it seems. I still have hope they will restock the parts for white skin body as my Saber Alter really needs a body.

Oh that's a scary thought! I'm in the processing of acquiring a WS head. I bought the body parts in white skin that were in stock from Volks JP and planned to get the rest later when they restocked them. As they never seem to have everything in stock at the same time... But if that's the case maybe I'll cave and get the parts from the U.S. store just in case. Was hoping to not do that as the currency conversion is terrible right now

So should I buy the available parts now or is it better to wait and hope everything will be in stock at the same time?
