Bouncing_Tigger Posted February 1, 2014 Gretchen: Hi Kino! I made this photo story just for you 'cause I saw in your story that you like the snow and you are sad that you don't have very much! I hope you like it! Look Mama! It’s snowing!! Please…can’t I just go outside for a minute?? Please!!! I’m all dressed!! Me: Yes….well … about that…I don’t like to mention it, but that has to be the strangest outfit I think I’ve ever seen! But Mama, these were the only things I could find to stay warm. You said we had to dress warm if we ever went outside!! You haven’t made us a lot of winter clothes yet, you know!! Me: (I just knew I shouldn’t mention the outfit…I just knew it.) Well, at least you are dressed in layers...kinda...so you should be able to stay warm for a few minutes. I guess it’s OK! Look, Kino! I’m standing on the patio table! Oooo the snow is really coming down! I guess we don’t get hamburgers for dinner tonight, do we? Me: No, dear, I don’t think so…not tonight. Now I’m standing on the deck! Boy is the snow ever deep here!!!! I could make tons and tons of snowmen with all this snow, Kino! It’s way too cold and snowing way too hard to stay outside, but Mama let me bring my snowman into the house to finish building him!!! They sure don’t last long in here, though! HEY KINO! See!! My Mama didn’t lie to your Papa when she said we had more than enough snow to make as many snowpeople as you want! Maybe if you bug your Papa enough, he can send you here to live…er, I mean visit…for a long, long time Holly couldn’t come outside ‘cause she got a cold. She’s snuggled in Mama and Da’s bed till her temperature goes away, but I bet she would love to have someone around who is her size once she is feeling better! Holly says she thinks that maybe I should just send you some snow in the mail, Kino, instead of you trying to get here, ‘cause your Papa probably loves you too much to ever let someone else have you, just like our Mama and Da love us too much to do that! Me: *sigh* …and the snow just continues to fall… we just had to be born and live in Canada...
katnaper Posted February 1, 2014 HEY KINO! See!! My Mama didn’t lie to your Papa when she said we had more than enough snow to make as many snowpeople as you want! ... Me: *sigh* …and the snow just continues to fall… we just had to be born and live in Canada... And fall... and fall... and fall... if there was a way to export snow... LOL. Is the snow as bad in Ontario as it is here in the Prairies? Darned flats make it seem there's so much more 'cause all you see is white everywhere (that or muddy grey when it melts ). But that aside, I like Gretchen's creative cobbling together of a winter outfit. She's a very determined girl, I see. Hugs to poor Holly. I hope the little dear gets better soon so she and Gretchen can play outside. We have our own BLOG. Please visit us at the House of Nyan by clicking this link or our sig above. See you there. Or, come see what Nyanko-sensei is up to at the Katnaper's Den
baldylox Posted February 2, 2014 Awwwww! It was so nice of Gretchen to make this post for Kino! I went and grabbed her once I saw this and she's looked thru this post at least 7 times now, pointing out different things each and every time. But I'll let HER tell you what she thinks.... And just so you know, she's NEVER this excited about anything. So her reply might be a bit.... jumbled. Kino - " Papa!! Look at what that nice girl has done! She's so cool! Oh, she's in the snow so she's cold and cool too, hee hee! But lookit the snow! There's soooo much! Why didn't we get that much? Where can we go to see that much? I wanna see some snow like THAT! Kino, slow down, you're rambling. "But... but... did you see her outfit? Wasn't it cute? I like her leg warmers! So pretty! And she had a nice hat too..... I like hats. Warm ones are good, like the pink one you made me wear outside. She made a snowman!! He was cute! And he had a hat too! Can we buy a snowman Papa? I want one to play with. We could play outside with the squirrels and hide acorns. I bet he could do a good job." You're still rambling Kino, try and focus some please. "I....I'm focused! I'm focused on the snow! Heeheheheheee. I love all the snow pictures, they're wonderful! I wanna go there so bad! She said I could come up and visit her, can I? I could stay for just a little bit, it'd be okay right?" Kino, we talked about this. You know you're too young to be travelling around all by yourself. Plus, I don't think Gretchen's Momma would send you home very soon if you DID go visit them. You wouldn't want to leave all your sisters and your Papa behind for too long now would you? "I guess not. I like my sisters. And.... I like.... my.....I like my Papa." I know you do little one. And I'm not trying to be mean to you, I'd love for you to see some snow in person and have loads of fun! I just want to be with you when you do that, okay? "Okay Papa! Can I say thank you to Gretchen now?" Yes dear, please do. "Thank you Gretchen! I really loved your pictures and your outfit and the snowman and.... and... OH! Tell Holly to feel better soon! Papa was sick a while ago and he was no fun at all. I don't like people being sick, they look so tired and sad. Feel better Holly! Make some snowmen and that will help!" I'm not sure playing in the snow will help her get better dear..... But I agree, I'd like to thank Gretchen for her wonderful pictures and I do hope Holly begins to feel better soon! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
Bouncing_Tigger Posted February 2, 2014 Awwwww! It was so nice of Gretchen to make this post for Kino! She was really happy and excited to do this for Kino...plus it made a good excuse for why she should be allowed to go outside in the snow! There's soooo much! Why didn't we get that much? I would love, love, love to send you more than one truck load full! Like Katnaper, we are getting very weary of this constant snow! Maybe we can figure out a way to mail you some! "But... but... did you see her outfit? Wasn't it cute? I like her leg warmers! So pretty! And she had a nice hat too..... I like hats. Ummm, Kino? I think the "fashion police" might be coming after you, too, if you think that outfit Gretchen wore was cute! I'm worried that they might be stalking Gretchen down right now!! Plus, I don't think Gretchen's Momma would send you home very soon if you DID go visit them. Who? Me? Not me! Now where would you get an idea like that? "Thank you Gretchen! I really loved your pictures and your outfit and the snowman and.... and... OH! Tell Holly to feel better soon! Papa was sick a while ago and he was no fun at all. I don't like people being sick, they look so tired and sad. Feel better Holly! Gretchen: I'm glad that you liked the pictures Mama let me make for you! I read your whole post...What Mama? Oh, OK...Mama says I should tell you that she helped me to read it 'cause I don't read so good yet! Holly says that she's feeling much better now so she thinks she can maybe go outside tomorrow. She thinks that making snowmen would help her feel even better, too! But Mama says I was wearing Holly's coat so it would be kinda hard for us to both go outside together. And she says that Holly is much shorter than me so she could get swallowed up by all the snow and disappear!!! Maybe Mama will let me bring some more snow into the house again tomorrow and we can build another snowman! We've got another 15 cm of snow today and it's still snowing so there should be lots for us to have!! I'm glad that Kino enjoyed the story and the pictures! Thanks for your kind words! I hope the little dear gets better soon so she and Gretchen can play outside. I know...I wish we could "export" it somewhere far, far away! It has been a terrible month here! We had some 50 cm of snow already in January and now another 15 cm today and its still falling!! Gretchen's outfit was the weirdest yet! We couldn't find anything else and wanted to get the pictures before the weather got any worse, so we just grabbed whatever was handy and threw it on her! The coat she is wearing is actually for Holly, but we figured better any coat than none in all that snow!! Holly says to tell you thanks for the hug and she is feeling much better now! I think she still has a stuffy nose (just like me) but really wants to get out of bed and go play in the snow (also like me It is perfect snowman snow, I must say so it is very tempting!!)! At the rate it's snowing, I don't think she has anything to worry about...we'll still have some left in JUNE!!!
SisterKyoya Posted February 2, 2014 I love all the photos! And yep, I'm still envious of all the whiteness! I totally love the outfit even though it is a bit unconventional. If we had that much snow and it wasn't crusty/icy I'd be hard pressed to resist jumping in it. At the rate it's snowing, I don't think she has anything to worry about...we'll still have some left in JUNE!!! I probably shouldn't tell you that I've been having fun growing an amaryllis (Christmas present), celery, and garlic (kitchen scraps) for the last couple of weeks indoors... I just started baking a spaghetti squash and I'm wondering if I can get the seeds to sprout. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

"unconventional" doesn't begin to describe it! We're still laughing about it!! We want to take some more shots today if we can find some better clothes! If we do, I'll try to get them posted as soon as I can. Ooooo, growing plants! That makes me think of Spring, but at the same time, I figure any self-respecting seeds around here would have run for the south long ago!! You've given me hope, at least, that Spring will eventually arrive and I'll be able to get back into my garden!
