Are DD owners cat or dog people?

Dogs are cool, had some dogs in the past, but I'll always be a fish enthusiast. Any fish themed BJDs out there? 

I am a dog person through and through! I grew up with dogs, and cannot imagine life without them. I have one dog, a rescue named Wisp, who I adore. I brought her back to health, as she was severely dehydrated, emaciated, and had a skin infection and heartworms when I got her. She's my best friend in the whole world, besides my husband. The goodest girl.

As far as cats go, I am not the biggest fan, partly because I am very allergic, and because cats, where I am, are a serious pest problem because terrible people dump their pets here and don't spay/neuter and thus they decimate the local bird and reptile populations. So feral cats I don't enjoy and I can't pet other peoples' cats because I will suffer if I do.

However, I do like seeing other people's cats. They can be and are super sweet and I'm so glad people love them! I love how everyone here really loves their animals whether they're dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, etc.

Life-long cat person! Can't imagine going through my day without a kitty.
Also, rabbit obsessed. I just love cats and rabbits.

Our house rabbit brings us so much happiness, they're really a treat to live with when properly cared for.

A lot of anime girls have cutesy animal like qualities, and I kind of see it transfer over to dolls pretty often.
Particularly cat stuff... And I love catgirls!

I had two dogs in the past. I also like cats (never had them).

Been quite a while since I posted in here. Since then, I'm another who got into aquariums for a while. Can't wait to have a tank again.

In the time since, I also found out I'm allergic to cats anyway so...😂 but I also found out after getting my childhood dream pet, I am very much a ferret person! I love my crazy little catsnakes. Some say they're similar to having a permanent kitten. I wonder how true that is sometimes lol.

I still love dogs though, and am currently waiting for the right time for us to welcome one into our lives. It's probably because I grew up around them since I was a baby, but I just can't seem to shake the feeling that something is missing in my house without a dog around!

I currently only only have one of my cats with me (and I probably wouldn't be able to survive without her), but when I was still living with my parents we had cats, dogs and fish 😂 

I'm more of a cat person. My family has 3 cats. More into axolotls though, been trying to learn how to sew so I can make an axolotl themed doll! I've got several pet axolotls as I raise and breed them.

I'm a cat person, and I feel like my current cat is the sweetest cat ever. I grew up with dogs so I do like them, especially the bigger breeds.

(I don't have a DD dolls yet, but I'm planning on getting one asap.)

While I like both, and even though I'm allergic to dogs... I'm a dog owner and I think I'll continue to be a dog owner. Just got to keep nasal spray and eye drops in the medicine cabinet all the time 😂

 

I really love both! Right now i just have one cat because I live in an apartment and I'm only allowed one pet and cats are a bit easier, but once I have a proper house, I'm planning on having both.

In theory I like both, but in practice I've found that cats really don't like me. I've never met a cat who enjoyed my presence, even when the cat liked other people 😔

On the other hand, I get along well with pretty much all dogs I've encountered.

Visually I think cats are cuter, but I like being around dogs more. I like how they're usually more energetic and playful, even if it can be tiring. I'd love to own a husky dog someday, but I don't really have the means to care for one, so I probably won't ever get one.

If I had to style a DD in something cat-like or dog-like, I'd pick cat style. I think of dolls as artificial mini-humans more than animal or pet-like though. Sort of like an automata or something like that?

I love both dogs and cats. But I must admit I am personally more of a cat person. 

Definitely a cat person. 

Having a dog is too much like having a kid that never grows up!

I love animals in general, but cats are my favorite. I do kitten rescue (trap feral kittens and socialize them so they can be adopted) 

cat person all the way here too!! they're basically my favorite animal besides birds. i actually used to be kind of afraid of dogs when i was younger due to some bad experiences but now my feelings are more "they're cute but wayyy too loud", haha

my family has 2 cats and we've also been taking care of the stray cats in our neighborhood since last fall :^) we'll actually be taking some to a shelter very soon!

I really love all animals, but when it comes to pets, I'm definitely a cat person!

Dog person all the way! I've been around dogs my whole life and cats seem to feel it because they always ignore me despite my best efforts lmao Yet my dog is very catlike !

I'm generally a cat person.

During the lockdowns Towa and I looked after my sister's cat. Towa came to refer to the cat as the horrible monster. It used to get impatient if we slept in too long, and it bashed Towa over a couple of times. Thank goodness vinyl dolls are [almost] indestructible.

Towa isn't too keen on dogs either, because dogs are hugely attracted to dolls and are a major menace to deal with during outdoor photoshoots.

Definitely a cat person myself, I do like dogs too but I find myself always more nervous around them than cats, they just have such a comforting aura. Unfortunately I don't have any cats left in the family anymore but would love to adopt one again if the stars align!  🐈

I went through my photos today so I could make a list of all my dolls' birthdays.

I ordered Towa from the UK Dollfie Friends Shop and then could barely sleep waiting for her arrival. I emailed them to find out where she was, and they posted her out to me the next day.

Here's unboxed Towa with a VERY curious cat. I love how they get long neck when they're investigating something new.

Useless factoid: the FRAGILE packing tape does of course refer to the DDdy hips, which of course are generally hopeless if you're a doll noob.

So, as much as I like the idea of a dog; I can’t stand the amount of affection and attention they need. Not to say cats don’t have their own maintenance issues but at least I don’t have to potty train them 🥲

I don’t have that kind of motivation in me; it’s not fair to a pup if I can’t give it my all.  My paternal figure hated cats and loved dogs sooo firsthand I saw just how much tlc goes into caring for them. I at the moment have a special needs cat and he’s a butt and three quarters! I’d guess I’d say a cat person rather than a dog one. 

Dog -- but also cats! I love all animals, but the doggos have a special place in my heart. 

I've had a lot of animals in my life, but dogs are my main stay (allergy to cats in the family). I love doggos.
