heh.. eventhough I dont really follow non motorized sports of any kind, looking at this makes me sort of want to make finnish land team hockey shirts for my gang all of a sudden...

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments! We are not really sports fans for 'regular' sports, but we love the Olympics and watching all the events so we've been planning this for a while! If things work out, we plan to do a few more Olympic pics this weekend, so stay tuned!

Thanks for the very kind words, but I really wish we took better pictures! Photographers, we ain't!!! We are having a ball doing these, though. We were in hysterics over the "helmet" (which is actually made from the plastic egg that the toy comes in when you buy a large size KinderEgg. It just happened to fit on Holly's head so we cut out a space for her face, painted it black, slapped on a few stickers and then laughed ourselves silly! )

Time permitting, we do have a couple more ideas in mind. We'll just have to see if we can work them out before the Olympics are over!!

I'm glad you like them! Coming up with the equipment is definitely challenging our creativity but it is really amazing us with what we can do using household items and 'junk' that we find laying around! The little curling rocks are actually left over from a game our kids had when they were little. We couldn't find the 'mat' part, but stumbled across these two little left-overs from what was at one time an entire set of curling rocks. They turned out to be pretty close to the right size so we were lucky!

 

(btw...the game is not too complicated on a very basic level. You throw the rocks down the ice and the person who gets them closest to the bullseye gets a point, so you try to hit the other person's rocks and knock them out of the rings while keeping your own inside. Most points wins! Simplified explanation, but that's basically the game.)
