Meghan-chan Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) Hey everyone ^_^ I was keeping myself busy while waiting for my second daughter to arrive home, and I ended up making a table and couch for my girls. I, unfortunately, didn't do a tutorial for either of them as I had found the tutorials on here or on DOA. The table was made following Billy's table tutorial. Only difference is my table is 18" across while his was 15" but all other parts, even the legs (which was by accident as they were the only 9" legs they had haha) and steps are the same. (here's the direct link to Billy's tutorial on Figure.fm: http://www.figure.fm/en/post/19518/How+to+make+a+Dollfie+sized+table+on+the+cheap.html) I made the couch using my own design but following the basic concept of a few different tutorials on DOA, it's made completely out of cardboard and the underside is hollow. I have a smaller box that fits underneath it that I keep all my extra pieces, parts, and accesories in. (Don't have picture of the back or bottom but can take some if anyone wants to see them) So without farther ado, here are the pictures: Goofing around with the table: Trying to get them to show off size of couch: Just cardboard structure Starting to cover it Finished product: Now on to my next projects a wardrobe and stuff made out of polymer clay and resin ^_^ Thanks for looking!!! baldylox Posted February 22, 2014 Wow, talk about a blast from the past! But I'm so glad that someone liked my post and actually made themselves a table! Great job! And thanks for the shout out, I appreciate that! And I'm amazed at how nice that couch turned out! It looks so nice and the size is great too. Did you happen to have those tutorials available to see for that? I'm really interested in seeing how that was made and how hard it is to do. I could use a nice large couch like that for my girls! Nice job on both pieces and congrats again on your newest girl! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Nice job on both pieces and congrats again on your newest girl! Billy I really appreciate you making the tutorial!! I was looking for a way a table for the longest time and while browsing here I happened across it The best part about your table (not sure if you knew this) but I wanted to test the strength of it because I do have a five year old, so I placed it on the floor and sat cross-legged on it. YOUR TABLE HOLDS 122lbs!!! Maybe more!!! (My husband wouldn't sit on it hahaha) Awe thanks It was my first time making a couch, so I'm glad it came out alright, especially for cardboard haha I'll probably try to make one out of wood and cloth someday Here are the links: (You need a DOA account to access, if you would like me to send you an invite I can, just PM me) This is the tutorial most like my couch. Basically you make a basic shape to your girl's sizes. http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?426902-Tutorial-on-Couch-(sofa)-2-different-sizes&highlight=couch+tutorial What I did was take all their measurements in a sitting position. Bottom of foot to back of knee. Back of knee to their rump. Rump up to where you want it to be on the back. I also did from leg to arm height where the arm looked most natural resting on top of something. I bought craft foam/stuffing at Walmart. It's about an inch thick and is used for decorative pillows or chair seat covers. Best part? It's already squared out. Just cut to desired length. Then I used fleece to cover all the foam pieces separately and glued them into place. I have to make another one of these, for my daughter's American Girl dolls (apparently she thought it was for them because they need one too, gotta love 5 year olds haha) so I can try to make a tutorial (never done one before). But there are other tutorials as well: Made out of Orange Boxes http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?565778-Tutorial-Building-a-doll-couch-out-of-orange-boxes-(easy)&highlight=couch+tutorial Cardboard http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?584156-Easy-to-make-Couch-(Light-weight)-(Pic-heavy)&highlight=couch+tutorial Cardboard and a pre-existing box http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?349730-Making-A-Sofa-(Couch)-Tutorial&highlight=couch+tutorial At home: Miniko ~ DDdy Miko Mayuki ~ DDS Mayu Mizuki ~ SQ Lab/MDD hybrid Waiting on: None LOOKING FOR: MDD Ratwuni/Latune (Purple hair and dress)
