Dollfie the Best Selection Polls!

So I guess Sasara and Melty being re-released is the big poll result news but what about the results from the other polls? Has anyone seen or heard anything? As far as I can tell the voting ended early october? Can't find anything on Volks' international web.

 

We only know the dolls and November/December outfits so far. Looks like the next few outfit collections will each have a few of the rereleased outfits but they haven't been revealed yet. We don't know the Volks character DD re-release yet, but it's probably Mariko. Maybe they're saving that news for one of the DD-only events.

 

I heard from DOA that the DDs which will be at DD-only event are Saber Extra (Nero) and Saber Alter II. Don't know if it's right. :/

When you look at the scans for the Volks News 61 the items that won the votes for the Best Selection polls are marked with the Best Selection logo. It doesn't look like Volks will be putting out one comprehensive list of all the winners so we'll be finding out with each new Dolpa & monthly collections.

Oh no, I mean DD only Dolpa-like events, like the DD Gatherings and Festivals. I think the Sabers were just extras that Volks USA had lying around, not re-releases.

Yup yup not re-releases just leftovers from Volks Japan since Volks USA actually sold all of their stock since I used to keep track of it for when I actually went to the store to let people know what was available

 

I agree with you that I think Mariko will be the one to win the Best Selection Poll for the Akihabara Girls which means I will have to enter for her because I've missed out on her lotteries twice because of other dolls I had opportunities for at the time (which wouldn't have been there later had I tried for Mariko). Not to mention Volks photos totally mislead me into thinking that Mariko was only okay and once owner photos came out I was proven quite wrong

 

Really hoping the Blue Balloon Dress Set won the poll it was in because I would love to snag that set (even though I got the pink one haha).

Probably means it'll take a year or more before we know the full results. Quite frustrating not knowing if we should wait for re-releases or hunt the aftermarket for stuff.

Yeah it can be annoying if you're actively looking for certain items. But I suppose it'll make you think twice about if the price you're paying for the item is really worth it to you or not. Along with the Best Selection winners you know there will be plenty of re-colors of past items since Volks has been on a kick of doing that with past outfit/shoe/accessory releases lately after realizing that it's a really easy way to make more money on items that were popular.

 

But who knows maybe Volks will compile some sort of list~ We will just have to wait & see like most things with them

Hm, they might not release a list of the winners...that would take the excitement and anticipation out of it. Imagine if you knew everything Volks was going to release for the entire year. That'd be awesome, right? At first anyway. Then you'd lose interest, because you already decided what you want or don't want at the start of the year. There wouldn't be much excitement/surprise as each event happened because it would be old news. That's my take on it. The downside of not knowing ahead of time is you don't know whether you should be saving up for a big purchase or not.

Yukamina, I guess you're right to some extent on both the exitement and the money part if one doesn't know what they might want.

 

There are a couple of DDs , MDDs and outfits I want and could buy from Y!J right now but if Volks does a re-release of them then I'd rather buy from Volks at hopefully at a better price. So the frustration, for me at least, is not knowing if I should:

 

* Buy right now at 150% original price

 

* Hope for a re-release and buy at (hopefully) 100% original price

 

* Wait, perhaps a whole year, while prices increase only to discover that no re-release was done and be forced to buy at perhaps 200% original price

 

 

On the other hand, maybe this is an attempt on Volks' part to drive down the aftermarket prices. I mean, this uncertainty could potentially drive down the Y!J and eBay prices because there are no bids since people are waiting for possible re-releases.
