Ahhh! Nanoha... See, now this illustrates part of my problem. Volks should have put a closeup of the heads in addition to the pics they have. Not everyone automatically remembers the sculpt of each girl just by hearing the name (I'm still working on it but it gets hard because of people's customs of that sculpt muddy the waters), the older girls don't even have proper info pages on Volks Int., and some of us are relatively new to the hobby. Sure I could go and research them all, but I honestly don't have the time. Ok, I have time to research some.

I squeak like a moe fangirl every time I see your pics of her Poofie, but she was far down on my list. Then you posted a pic again, with your girl so sweetly asking for something. That face... how could I turn it down? Then I thought I'd go to Flickr and look for just a few more pics of her sculpt. I shouldn't have done that. I really shouldn't have done that. She's the head I've been looking for to make into Hatoko Kobayashi (Angelic Layer) and takes up the MDD M bust slot in my 'base 13' list. That may not mean much to anyone else, but the girls on that list take precedence when it comes to getting new DD because I need them for the body sizes, often pushing my current uncompleted DD further down the list.

I'd kind of forgotten how much I like Yuki Nagato's head until recently. She might pick up some votes in the third slot from me before this poll closes.

Jeez, who can say no to THAT face??? Ok, I think Nanoha is going to be getting my third vote a LOT more often, now, although I may switch in Fate every once in a while.

 

My best guess for the poll for the smaller girls would be once this one ends, so after Mar 30.

I voted for Rise, Sakuya and Yuki.

I voted for Airy Ardet, Haruka Niimi and I the third slot alternates between Beatrice and Rise, because I love their sculpts and would love to have them . It would be great if Volks uses this data to rerelease some DD's. I just hope it's not Saber that gets the most votes, because I personally feel that there are already enough Sabers xD.

Though thanks so much for the comments on my Nanoha, Sister Kyoya. She's not one that gets much attention, at least in the English-speaking DD community, so it always makes me squee inside to hear she's on someone's unicorn list. Mine being one of the reasons she ends up on a unicorn list is a mind-boggling and happy bonus!

 

It's kind of a shame that Volks will probably keep her same eyes if they rerelase her though--they're hands-down her default set's biggest flaw--sort of like Airy and Neris, though for the opposite reason. Nanoha, Airy and Neris all have lovely heads, but those eyes. Blugh. At least if any of those girls get re-released, there'll be owner photos with other eyes to convince people.

 

Actually, that gives me an awesome (if unlikely) idea. When Volks announces who's getting re-released, they should do a photo contest to pick up good owner photos of that particular doll, and show them alongside the official promo pictures to showcase the doll's versatility.

I'm going to vote primarily for Rise and two random others now. I want Volks to know that Rise is gorgeous and there needs to be more of her Also Manaka. She has the sweetest face ever.

 

I wonder...if they rerelease some of the older ones if they'll be on updated bodies with squishy headcaps?

I feel confident that any reissues would be on the DD3 with the squishy headcap. It'll be a good way to tell the the original apart from the new run. That's all the more reason to vote for Kanu, so we can have a tan DDdy3!

 

I'm assuming, with such DDs as Saber Alter ver. 2 and Magical Princess Lucy on the list, that the outfits won't be changed, outside of issues like the boot feet compatibility.

 

I'd also hazard a guess that if the winning DD is reissued, that'll be our preorder this year. That's totally speculation, of course, since there's no guarantee of a reissue from this poll.

I'm not voting for Nanoha, as much as I would like her, since then I'd need Fate! But I'll throw a few votes Fate's way. I was introduced to the series with Strikers (with the Figma releases), so I prefer that look for Nanoha and Fate. Japan seems to prefer the first and second season looks.

 

I agree about the eyes, too! I've swapped the eyes in my Neris and Airy, and they really do look better.

I'm hoping the rerelease(s) end up preorder! Think that would make a lot of us pretty happy, and may coax some impulse buys out of people on the fence more easily than a lottery release.

 

I'm looking forward to seeing some of these on the DDIII frame system. Especially the DDI girls and the ones with lots of weaponry--maybe a Fate on DDIII could actually hold up Zanber form for once.

 

Heh, I can understand what you mean, Galvatim; the two of them need each other at some point or another. Fate's main Strikers barrier jacket (which her DD default is based on) is hands down my favorite of her barrier jackets so far. My fave for Nanoha is actually Exceed, though the lovely executing on the DD version of Aggressive went a long way to redeeming that one for me.

That was an evil, evil move... Now I have no doubt that Nanoha's sculpt is perfect for Hatoko. She has the perfect chubby cheeks!

 

It would be totally awesome if the results of the voting ended up being the preorder girls. They are so much more attainable than the lottery ones. If Volks made them lottery girls, that would just be uber mean since everyone gets to vote.

What do you think of the likelihood of Volks re release? I'm about to get my first DD but after that i will be broke; and if they ever decide to drop a Sasara or Rise i would...cry.

What they will do is release the doll in apparently the same/similar mold, but with a different outfit. Like what happened to Lucy.

I've heard claims that the face is slightly different from the original. I'm not sure if this is true though.

I have both and the sculpt looks exactly the same to me. The face-up looked the same too, but I thought the light colors didn't looks as good on SWS (and for other reasons I changed her face-up after I got her)

I voted for Sakuya Izayoi, Yoko, and Miku. I might vote for someone else in place of Yoko though, as the other two are the ones I really truly want. XD

Even if it's the same sculpt but different outfit, that's the whole point to it isn't it? It's the face that makes up the "limited character" after all

I don't know about Lucy, but I know for Saber Alter v2, the face up was slightly different. She had more blush on her cheeks whereas the original didn't. It was still pretty subtle, but it WAS a difference.

It's a noticeable difference with Sakuya Crimson though, it's intended to be a different faceup (she's crimson).

Well yeah, but I don't think the original Sakuya has much blush, whereas with crimson her cheeks are actually rosy. It sounds like Saber Alter v1/v2 was more subtle. My point is just that I don't think that blush is something they add as a bonus for re-releases

 

I was thinking about this poll, they're not doing DDS & MDD this round but they will later. It's just a guess, but I think only one doll from this round will be released, and one doll from the DDS & MDD round will be released (assuming they're done together, like DD/DDy are this time).

If only we get some insiders to actually leak what is happening in there
