juu-yuki Posted August 17, 2011 Hello my name is Juu-Yuki. You might have seen me around Deviantart and Figure.fm. I have been looking at some of the posts over at Figure.fm for about a month now. I finally decided to get my first daughter. I was originally a Nendoroid collector but then I found that the Dollfie Dream community was much more interesting. I guess what drew me in was all the beautiful clothes and girls. I am an illustrator who focuses mainly on the anime style. Hopefully my artistic skills will help me when I do faceups and clothing design (really want to create some beautiful girls ). Hoping to make some good friends here. I've been reading some of the posts and can tell this is a very friendly community. Cheers. ~Juu-Yuki http://juu-yuki.com Dolly Shop: http://www.lizanna.com
XOHimitsuOX Posted August 17, 2011 Welcome!!! I was originally a figma collector and shifted to DDs, due to fact that they are larger and they are more customize-able. I'm sure that when you do your face ups, they would look lovely. I'm not artistic and Kaori turned out nice
Iachion Posted August 17, 2011 Welcome to the forums! I use to collect Nendroids and PVC figures for the longest time. But after seeing the customizability of the DD's I knew I had to get one! Any idea who your first one is going to be?

I was going to go into figma collecting but that soon died out when I saw how cute nendoroids are. . You hit the nail on the head with the DD thing, love how DD's are more customize-able. I wish I got a DD2 body because they are half a head taller than the DDS that I ended up getting. Hopefully I could switch to a DD3 body sometime in the future Checked out some of your photos hehe~ Is that her faceup? She looks lovely . Love the eyelashes Welcome to the forums!I use to collect Nendroids and PVC figures for the longest time. But after seeing the customizability of the DD's I knew I had to get one! Any idea who your first one is going to be? LOL Same. The big price jump was a little unsettling though. Hopefully it will go away when I finally see one in person . Yes, I already ordered and paid for Reimu (waits waits). I am a pretty big Touhou fan and I love how cute she looks. She was only released this year though.... can't believe how bleh her aftermarket price was. Wish I got her earlier from Otacute or something http://juu-yuki.com Dolly Shop: http://www.lizanna.com

I'm in London, Ontario, we are neighbours, but too far apart for convenient meet-ups, sigh.
baldylox Posted August 17, 2011 Hello and welcome! We sure have lots of Canadians here! That's pretty neat. I also used to collect Figmas and other anime related figures and statues before getting into Dollfies. I think its a natural progression for people who enjoy anime and it's stylings. But I haven't bought any new statues or figures in a while due to my girls taking up most of my spending cash. And you *don't* need a DSLR to get good pics. I used to get pretty nice ones using an older Sony DSC-H2 digital. So you don't have to have a super expensive camera to get decent hsots. Just practice a lot and you'll be fine. Unless you WANT to go get a DSLR.... then by all means..... Have fun here and be sure to ask any questions you need to! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
