Hello,

Just joined the forum even though I have been held hostage by Dollfies for a few years now. Never holding one or seeing one in person made me more curious of owning one. I've read the horror stories of cracks, stains and of course bootlegged bodies which made me weary since this hobby can be expensive as it is to get started with an official licensed anime dollfie.

I have collected a couple 1/6 scale dolls and countless action figures previously for the past 20-25 years. I love my Volks Chara-Dollfie Kasumi Yashiro and Volks Customize Rozen Maiden figures but have been hypnotized by the endless possibilities of custom DD's.

So after saving for a long while, battling the auctions and second hand store prices and of course luck... I tripped across the feet of a very lovely girl. She arrived the other day and can say she was like brand new her outfit and original paperwork still factory sealed and wig looked like it wasn't handled much outside of her for sale picture and body had 0 stains. We have already ordered her 2 sets of custom made eyes that my friend helped design to be more accurate to Rozen Maiden's 2013 version of Suiseiseki. As for clothes we are currently trying to track down a nice custom dress, have contacted a few places and waiting for responses. Meanwhile Suiseiseki is patiently waiting while wearing one of my A-shirts as a dress, I know it sounds ghetto but it's better then her running about answering the door in her pantsu

I am the medium to my maiden

Vinyl is her body and Desu is my blood

I have created over a thousand Sui Dreams and wishes

Unaware of loss, Nor aware of gain

Withstood pain to create funds, waiting for one’s arrival

I have no regrets. This is the only path

My whole life was unlimited Suiseiseki works

So what came first, the dolljoints fetish interest in the Rozen Maiden world or the interest in dolls/dollfies?

Just finished watching Zurückspulen, I say if you're into Rozen Maiden and haven't watched it, do so forthwith.

Unfortunately stains are a matter-of-fact with dolls, especially when using darker colours (Suiseiseki's dark green dress an obvious culprit), but there are a number of ways to manage. Bodysuits, which are basically an extra layer of skin you can put over your doll and are essentially sacrificial (clean where possible, replace where not) or speciality cleaning methods. The bodysuit has an added bonus of hiding the joints if you're not a fan of them. But if you're like me, the joints are part of the charm of owning a doll.

As for cracks and breaks, so long as you buy always buy genuine and look after her, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If you're ever unsure about whether something is genuine, you can post on the forum asking and we'll be able to help.

Please do show us all what your girl looks like when she's finished.

No weird ball joint fetish here. Actually action figures came first in the 80's(lets not kid ourselves most looked terrible compared to todays sculpting), found more love in anime in the late 80's and early 90's which paved the roads to other collecting such as gunpla, figma, etc.

Back when dollfies first started to surface in vinyl I happened to see many pictures from wonderfests and other doll meets. This is where I originally started to like them, though the strung versions looked off to me as far as the design was for allowing movement. While I can appreciate the other types of dolls, they aren't my type nor desire to own/collect. I never really cared for the resin or porcelain antique dolls my mother had while we were growing up. Between not finding them interesting they were in the no touch, no play display cabinets. I can also say Danny Choo had a part in me finding my way deeper into the DD forest.

I watched the 2 original series and OVA when they were first broadcast in subs. If you haven't watched the OVA I would recommend those as well. The story is pretty good for more back-story which includes good explanations of more things between the dolls and their placements in time. Back before there were flower hamburgers and stolen strawberries!!

Yeah I kinda made peace with the thought of the doll gods causing stains. I did find a nice made dress for her through years of sifting around in many doll forums. Luckily my choice wasn't that velvety super staining original SD dress, I love how it looks but have heard some sad stories of people using it on their DD's only to end up with incredible hulk dolls .

Will do Her outfits and eyes are ordered being made to fit. So hopefully within a month or so I will receive them and get her to where she wants to be. I will be attempting to track down a water can once everything else is finished up.
