Polymer Clay

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere (did a search and couldn't find it), and I'm sorry if this is a noobish question...

 

But I've been making some accessories out of polymer clay, but I haven't let my girls touch them for one reason, am I suppose to seal the polymer clay accessories?!

The reason I ask is:

1.) Will the polymer clay and the vinyl of my girls have a chemical reaction?

2.) Will the polymer clay stain one of my girls?

 

If I'm suppose to seal them, what do I use?

 

Like I said I'm sorry if this is noobish or been asked before... I just really would like to know so my girls can enjoy the stuff I've made for them

From a quick search, polymer clay contains vinyl (yes, vinyl). I'm in no way a chemist but I believe it would stain if it's made of some dark / "strong" colors.

I believe you could use some spray-paint transparent sealant, but still, it would be safer if you buy a small replacement part or use something spare (a hand you never use?) and keep it in contact with the object for some time.

One of the pieces that's meant to be grabbed onto with the gripping hangs is a vibrant/hot pink so I was mostly worried about that!

I will try it again a spare hand I have (it's meant for testing clothes for stains but so far none) and I will probably just seal the items anyway
