Weenie Posted March 9, 2014 Hello! My nickname is Weenie! My hobbies are drawing manga(Professional level), playing scary games/cute games, sewing, and collecting dolls(Dollfie Dream being my favorite type of doll) Well, here is my story of how I came to own my DD. (It's a kind of long story ) I've been really interested in DD since 2007 when I started to become really fascinated with Japan and Japanese culture, what made me seriously want one of these dolls though was when I was on a 3 month trip to Japan in 2013. I went to the Akihabara Volks shop one day and saw all the really lovely dolls! The DD were so cute in person it almost made me cry!!(I saw the prototype of Komos while I was there too!! She was so cool!!) I had to have a DD of my own!! But they were so expensive, I thought I could never get one. However in December of last year my parents surprised me by telling me they were gonna get me a DD for Christmas!!! I got the DDH-07 on the DD base body ll in white skin and named my new DD Koyuki. And so that is my story. Thank you for reading~!
Dogs0813 Posted March 11, 2014 Welcome! I became fascinated with Japanese culture years ago too. The Volks store must have been amazing to see. Can't wait to see pics of your girl!
Guest Aurea Posted March 11, 2014 You should check out Volks Chara doll series too. They can be pricey but there are some really cool designs. It was my cheapest solution while saving for my girl. Can say I have tons of favorite outfits for DD's but for some reason I always think a yukata makes them the prettiest. Probably because of the vast amount of colors and designs to go with your Dollfies changing moods each day I have always loved Japan's older architecture, festivals, ancient armour and lore about things ranging from kitsune to other mythical creatures. Congrats on getting your first girl Koyuki!

Yeah, it was so cool seeing all of my favorite limited DDs in person! Such as Melty, they had her in a really cute display area with a bunch of candy and pink things all around her!! Maybe I'll make one for my girl this week if I can remember how the sewing pattern looks. lol I love studying about all the different kinds of Kimono and yukata, it's so fascinating! Especially the kimono Geisha wear, the colors and designs of the fabrics are so beautiful.

She is in the works of being either a new character who loves Suiseiseki or Suiseiseki reincarnation. My chara doll of course is Kasumi Yashiro, I think she looks way better as a chara then she did as an official DD. I'm not good with sewing so I have to rely on stores and others . I mean I can stitch a rip or whatever but it won't look that great. Fancy designs can make an outfit look so much better, even if it is simple in creation. I've always liked her! Oh wow, that sounds like a really good idea for your Yukino. I absolutely love Suiseiseki, her eye colors are cute together and her outfit is really cool. I wonder if the SD Suiseiseki outfit would fit on DD? Or can DD wear not wear SD size outfits? (Kinda assuming not since they have different shaped bodies but I can't be too sure.) Oh! Kasumi is such a cool Chara doll! Are the Chara dolls on regular dollfie bodies? I've always been wondering about it but never thought to ask anyone.

Some SD outfits may fit but sometimes they are super tight from what I have been told. And the original Suiseiseki outfit coloring was not anime color correct. Not to mention the velvet material caused bad staining even on the SD's. I'm currently waiting for her dress I ordered, it was custom fit for my DD. They said it could take up to a month...I guess because they are busy. Many people have had good luck with them so I figure just sit back and wait =) Her eyes I sent in a custom designed setup my friend helped me with and should see them within a few weeks or so. Pretty excited to see how the design turned out. Chara dolls are on a 1/6 scale body with sculpted hair normally and painted on eyes or decals. The body is harder plastic similar to a barbie?, not super poseable as Obitsu of the same scale since it keeps a lot of the detail for body mold. They have 1/6 bodies more like a 1/6 dollfie but those are pricey even without heads/outfits. But if DD Kasumi Yashiro looked like her Chara I would have gotten her with no second thoughts to how broke I would be for the next century
