Hello from Singapore!

Hi everyone! I'm from Singapore, and am almost-if-not-totally new to BJDs and dollfie dreams. I still can't believe I actually created an account and am introducing myself to everyone here. Its been a long while since I last joined any kind of forums or interest groups.

 

I'm like your typical average otaku kind of guy that likes to watch anime, play video games and collect anime figurines. My recent obsessions steered towards dollfie dreams thanks to Danny Choo and his article about DD Hatsune Miku late last year. My only knowledge about dollfies prior was that they are just super expensive dolls that collectors bring to conventions. The moment I saw DD Hatsune Miku, I just couldn't stop thinking about her. I had always been a Hatsune Miku fan; her songs are awesome, and there's tons of her beautiful fan art on the internet.

 

After several attempts at calculating ways to afford getting her, plus Danny Choo's constant reminders of her closing pre-order deadline, I went ahead and pre-ordered her. So right now I'm anxiously waiting for her arrival, which is still a long ways to go.

 

I hope this isn't too long and boring.. Anyways, I'm looking forward to learning more about dollfie dreams and having fun with everyone here!

I saw your topic here so I thought I'd give you a proper welcome! ^^ It's cool that you're getting Miku as well as Youmu - I missed out on Miku, but I'm hoping she will be popular like Saber so I can get her next time. c:

Thanks for the warm welcome!! Saber is super popular! I actually didn't know that Volks has a Dollfie line that does characters from anime only until late last year. If I knew earlier, I would definitely have tried to get my hands on Saber lily.. which prices are kind of going into celestial levels from YJA website..

 

I'm a huge fan of saber. I've got quite a few saber scale figures and figmas, and collector's edition fate extra games.

I collected anime figures before starting in on DD's as well. I still collect them, but it's hard to spread out available funds.

I have Miku on order as well I think she will make a great starter DD for you. She was pre-order so you're guaranteed to get her at retail cost, she's super cute and she comes complete with everything you need (to start that is.... there's always more to get )

If you haven't seen already, they have quite a few Sabers for sale on Mandarake's page. They have the original one, alter and the red one ( extra? ) No Saber Lily though;;

I'm basically a complete newb when it comes to BJD and how to take care of them.. So I'd definitely love to learn more about how to take care of them properly! Congrats on pre-ordering miku as well! She is super cute.. I'm thinking of getting her nails colored like the ones in the promotional images..

 

Its definitely super hard for me to spread out and plan my funds.. The recently announced RAH Saber Lily looks too beautiful to miss.. Must cut down on other figures...

Thanks for the welcome! They have saber on Mandarake!? Oh no! Now I definitely need to start saving more money for saber.. I previously saw 1 Red Saber on Yahoo Japan Auctions.. But I wasn't very comfortable with using it.. Plus volks lottery was around the corner.. so I decided to try my luck at getting Youmu from official channels first..

Haha yeah, someone else mentioned Mandarake in their introduction thread so I went over to take a look;;; Prices don't seem too inflated.... But it's still a lot of $$$ @__@

Sob, I've tried using agents for jp auctions before... But it's so nerve wracking so I stopped lol... Plus I tended to over spend /'D

Haha.. they have definitely taken over my wallet.. My dolpa kyoto 10 after event outfits just arrived in my mail!!!! It feels kind of weird for me to get the outfits first before my youmu arrives... The wait is unbearable!!

Oh wow, those shipped out fast! Haha, at least that means... When she ships, she'll arrive home quickly!

 

Sob, I know how you feel. I've been checking the order page several times a day for the last few days... I mean, I know she wouldn't have been shipped out that soon.... But I can't help it @__@~

Yea. Its pretty fast. I made payment on the 29th, they shipped out my order on the 31th, and my order arrives on the 2nd.

 

I'm totally anticipating their shipping email.. Can't stop checking it every other hour.. I have a gut feeling that volks will probably start shipping them out proper after this saturday's clickwars so that they can ship everything out together.. They probably can get a discount from EMS.. Just my guess..

Awesome!! I got mine too!! Sadly, will have to wait till next week for me.. because my local post office only delivers from Mondays to Fridays.. But finally!! In the meantime I have washed my new fresh volks outfits so that she can wear them as soon as she arrives!!
