Volks USA Website Relaunch site preview May 1st 2014

Volks site reopens today if I'm not mistaken

From what I seen I liked the new layout and being able to log in to shop.

 

But to be expected it was going very slow and crashed before I completed my order....awesome.

 

Have to give it another go after they get the problems worked out.

Ooh man, I didn't realize they would have the limited items we missed when they reopened! Their emails have been going to my spam filter since the move. Finally got my hands on a brilliant sailor set

Lots of other goodies still in stock! I didn't have trouble checking out, but I had registered previously for the one-offs lotto.

 

There's also something on the front page about web-based FCS! I'm happy to see it's not gone forever, and still have fingers crossed for a DD option some day.

Still poking around the interface. Really digging the "fits" checkbox filters! Lets you browse multiple relevant sizes simultaneously while filtering out stuff that won't fit. The quick view versus full item page thing is a little odd to me, especially since it doesn't list the specific fit information. But meh, at least there's still a full item page if you want it.

 

Anybody got details on shipping options yet? Don't want to do a mock order just to find out, because I'm afraid I'll cave when I shouldn't really be spending the money.

I did a mock order for an outfit and the shipping option was UPS Ground $11.41

Thanks for info, adding the /dollfie made it work for me too. I just assumed their store wasn't going to work.

 

Good news though from me not completing my order right away, their cart save system does work. Even though there was about a 3hr gap from the time of me placing the items in my cart to actually ordering everything stayed put and went smoothly.

 

And shipping for me was $11.41 for 3 outfits. Doesn't seem as bad as it was before??? But it has been awhile since I've ordered with Volks US.

There are a few outfit's in stock that I missed, however cost of Shipping to Canada for one outfit is $35.25! That's a lot on a $70 outfit...

Shipping for one wig and one of those tiny bottles of wig mist was $10... not cheap but not more expensive than before I suppose.

Ordered a Cafe Style Set (black) & notice the shipping drop by $3 when I put in my work address.

 

Shipping method: UPS Ground

Subtotal: $72.00

Shipping cost: $8.16

 

Not terrible I suppose but really wonder why they can't offer a USPS option.

I know! I couldn't justify it, even though I really wanted the outfit.

Shipping + Handling all said and done from international only costs me $16.... I'll be sticking to ordering from there for now haha.

My wishlist keeps growing an growing. I'll be glad when they restock the wigs.

Uh, didn't Volks USA just put up a bunch of limited SDs? They have Kondo-san there (eh, can't but help think of Gintama), but he's been sitting at the Volks JP site since the March lottery, so maybe that's why. But even then, there's an SD from DP31 there too. Which is also in stock at Volks JP.

I guess Volks USA is allowed to sell JP's rejects (and uh, that fits Kondo-san perfectly).

Currently there are no WS or SWS listed that I could find... I hope it doesn't stay that way.

 

The shipping is still horrid in my opinion. Just calculated the cost for both ZM Acrylic paint sets ($24.00) and the shipping is $10.83! Seriously?!?!?!!! That's nearly 1/3 the cost of the order from a place only two states away! Having high shipping rates or free pickup is not what I call offering shipping options.

It is good seeing the site up and running again, but I got so used to the layout of the old one... Out of anything I hate, hate, HATE the "Featured Products" on the right sidebar. The rollover is so quick that it keeps catching the corner of my eye and it's giving me a headache. Not as bad as flashing banners, but still painful. I might have to make Ad Block Plus kill it.

 

All in all the site looks great and there are tons of awesome features that make it MUCH easier to find what you are looking for, like the eye size filter.

All the skintone options are clumped together as a drop down menu option on a single listing! At least that's the way it was with hands, I can't say for sure on anything else, but that's likely the case there too. It's very well organized, now.

Has anyone ordered from the new website yet? I happened to be browsing it on Monday and stumbled across an MDD outfit that I had tried for in the Japanese and US lotteries and failed to get. I was amazed they had it in stock so I jumped all over it and put it in my cart and paid for it as soon as I could.

 

I immediately got an email from them stating that my order had been "processed". I take it this is a good thing since they charged my card the next day. But I have yet to get a shipping email with tracking from them yet. This is what concerns me..... does this mean they're just slow on the updating or was the outfit not in stock? I really, REALLY want this outfit and I don't want my hopes dashed by some fluke on the new website.

 

Does anyone have any insight as to how the new setup works for updates on purchases? The old one sent you a confirmation email either right after you paid or the next day. It's been 2 days and no news of shipping yet.

 

Speaking of shipping, I only got one option for that, UPS of course, and it's still outrageous.... $15.30 for ONE damn MDD outfit! I personally think it's highway robbery but I'm happy to pay it to get this dress.

But I thought I would mention they are attending the CCBJD in San Francisco this weekend so them getting ready to travel to the event may be slowing down the processing/shipping of orders this week. Perhaps you could call & see if you can get a hold of someone? And my guess on the outfit is the Marshmallow Frilled Cardigan Set

I ordered on May 24th. Got an immediate email about the order.

It shipped on May 28th but I didn't get a notice until ~6 pm on the 29th and it arrived on the 30th.

However, creationddss87 ordered an hour or so after me and I think she just got a shipping notice yesterday.

I've done two orders so far, one of them went fairly smoothly, got a shipping notice two days after the order. The other one however took six days (including a weekend, but still) to ship, not sure what was the problem there.
