Volks USA Website Relaunch site preview May 1st 2014

Speaking of shipping, I only got one option for that, UPS of course, and it's still outrageous.... $15.30 for ONE damn MDD outfit! I personally think it's highway robbery but I'm happy to pay it to get this dress.

 

Wait....$15.30 to ship one outfit??? That is total crap, especially since I only paid $11.41 for shipping on THREE DD sized outfits. What the hell Volks and UPS?!?! That seriously makes no sense at all.

 

Which outfit did you get? Did it come with shoes or something that would make it slightly heavier?

 

And my order I placed right when the web store reopened took 4 days to ship out.

I have not ordered yet, but I like the new layout. Much easier to find things. Hopefully it will only get better and more products/lotteries will be added again in the future.

 

I'm putting my guess for baldylox's outfit as the warm denim salopette skirt set! I own it, and it is adorable!

Hmm. I ordered the same outfit as Billy along with another small item and it was $10.50. Granted, I'm not across the country from them like he is.

That was something else I didn't understand because I'm in Ohio so I'm on the same side of the country as him.

 

Sorry I'm just trying to wrap my head around why his shipping for one outfit was so outrageous and mine for more outfits was cheaper.

My experience:

 

May 25th - placed order, paid via paypal.com, got a message stating that the order failed.

May 28th, sent follow-up to them with screenshot of paypal screen. Got this as reply:

We apologize for this situation. Our new web store and PayPal

are having a difficult time communicating with each other. We

were able to hold the items that you wanted for your Order #xxxx.

Since we see that the payment was successful through PayPal,

we will change the status of your order to processed. We see

that you placed a different order for xxxxxx and

that order is still incomplete. We have not received payment

from PayPal for Order #xxxx and will only be able to hold onto

that order for 3 days.

 

May 31, received invoice after requesting one for the new order.

June 2, order processed.

June 4, order delivered. Shipping was $11 for a DDIII M-Bust and Lollipop Blue Dress.

Yep, $15 to ship from them to SC. I still think it's a total ripoff because this could EASILY be put in a padded envelope and shipped out for under $10 including the price of the envelope times 2. But whatever, I wanted that dress so badly I didn't even care.

 

And yes, whoever guessed this was correct!

I absolutely ADORE this set and I've been after it since it was released. I just know it will be perfect on my girls.

 

I do hope Volks US decides to use USPS for shipping options in the future, otherwise we will continue getting stiffed on shipping here in the US.

Has anyone else viewed the new site on a tablet? I'm extremely annoyed by the menu that pops up when you scroll down, since on my tablet it blocks fully half my screen. To me it's not a useful feature, it's a nuisance. I rarely use my laptop just to browse the internet, I always use my tablet, so I don't know if it only does that to a mobile device?

I don't have this issue on my Android tablet. It's possible you are viewing a mobile version of their website. I always view desktop versions on my tablet since mobile sites annoy me in general.

Weird. Even if I put it on desktop view everything stays the same. I don't think there is an actual mobile version of their site, so it shouldn't matter. I'm not sure why my device is interpreting that menu in that way, but it's frustrating.
