Advice on hard vinyl head

Yesterday I received my Kirisame Marisa head and noticed the head is one from hard vinyl. I don't mind this, but I could definitely use some advice!

 

I tried a wig on her, but the wig keeps slipping off. A cloth headcap makes it even worse. Would it be a good idea to buy a silicone headcap and put that underneat the wig and cloth headcap? If I do this, would I need a wig in a bigger size?

 

I could not for the life of me get the head on a (DDII) body. I pushed as hard as I felt comfortable with, but it would not move. Any advice on this would be great as well!

Hmm, I haven't had many issues with 8-9 wigs staying on my Marisa, but I definitely use a silicone head cap when I run across a problematic one. You don't need a larger size at all; a silicone head cap will fit perfectly under an 8-9 wig. Usually wigs slide off if they're too small or too big, so maybe it's a sizing issue?

 

Try using a blow dryer to soften the vinyl when you put her head on a DDII body. That will make the vinyl more flexible and it shouldn't be such a struggle to get a head on.

Thanks for your reply! I guess the wig was too big then. It fits well on Momo, but it seems like she might have a bigger head. But I'll buy a silicone headcap, just to be sure .

 

I was finally able to get her head on a body, turns out I just had to press harder! I didn't get my first Dollfie until last week, so I'm still a little too careful ..

I had the same problem with my DDH02 head (hard head cap), I ended up using Volks wig stopper. It's like a piece of velcro you put on the dolls head. In my case this allowed the cloth head cap and wig to catch on the wig stopper. This stopped them both from sliding off. I have found some DD heads are bigger then other's, and not all 8-9 wigs fit the same.
