I'm looking for a tutorial on how to modify Dollfie dreams eyes. preferably form eyehole closed to open slightly but any will do for research. I had a loo about but I could not see any my self.

Thank you

Image added to help explain how the eye I want to make will look.

I can't post links yet but it you go to the site "DA" and type in the search:

"First Eye Opening Modification - Unoa Lusis"

by Distractus

You can get some photos. That doll is resin but for vinyl it should be very hard

Thank you for that. I have a knowledge on how to open them but it will be the ridge that is left by the eyelid that I am having trouble on how to modify. in the main post I will add a image that someone linked to me before of a modified DD7 that is close to how I need

I've never modified DD heads before, but I'm guessing you would need a dremel tool and various grades of sand paper. You could mark the boundaries of the eye with tape.

Its probably best to test doing this on something else before working on the head. I'm not sure what type of dremel bit is best suited for DD vinyl.

It's been a while, and what little text the tutorial/worklog had was a little Engrish-y so I'm not entirely sure the best way to find it, but I did once see something to that effect on Figure.fm.

The poster had taken a closed-eyed 03 and opened the eyes to a custom shape. Then s/he took the scrap vinyl from the eye opening and head cap notching, and put it in the grooves left from the original eye guides/casting process. They then sanded it smooth enough you couldn't really tell it had been modded, at least in photos. Nice thing is that there was minimal to no paint matching to do.

Alternately though, you could sand out the subtle eye lid crease the sculpt has, and use the deeper groove left over from what you didn't cut away as the eye lid crease instead--use it to your advantage! Whether that's a viable solution probably depends on the character and personal taste, but it's something to consider.

In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.

indeed that dos sound quite good. I thing colour match is not to worry about due to the eyes being covered by black one the moding is complete. I was thinking about sanding the lid down but I don't know how this will make him look once its finished.
