Arkinlae Posted April 30, 2014 So I've been at this for at least a couple of hours and completely boggled on how to do this. I've seen plenty of tutorials for disassembling, but it doesn't seem to want to work with reattaching. (Unfortunately I can't seem to post pictures yet, but I will try and describe it as well as possible) So whilst playing with my girl I felt a joint in her thigh come out. From looking at disassembling pictures it looked a pretty easy job of being able to take the leg out of it's skin and slot it back in, however the way the legs attach seem to be different from the DDII/DDDyIII and other bodies I've seen and this seems to be what's causing the problem. If people try searching 'Fine tune on Kanu body' and looking at the Figure.FM article they'll see what I mean I've tried heating up the vinyl with a hairdryer to make the vinyl softer in the hopes that will help (though maybe I'm not doing it for long enough I was a little paranoid about it melting) I even tried putting the leg on in reverse (ie stuffing it through the knee hole), but I don't want to risk any damage to parts to continue with that method nor do I want to be cutting any bits in the vinyl either, though that solely depends on how important the bodies are to a limited (which I hear Mai is. I never intend to sell my dolls, but if there were ever an emergency/eventuality in which I had to I always like them to be as intact as possible). I'm a bit at a loss of what to do and of course bummed out about it, especially as I was feeling pleased with myself about being brave enough to disassemble for what I thought would be a simple problem and I'm stuck with a one legged doll. I'm in no financial position to be getting replacement parts either
XOHimitsuOX Posted April 30, 2014 After heating the thigh with a hair dryer, pinch it hard so you can feel the hard plastic socket. With your other hand holding the knee, rotate the peg around the socket to get an idea where the hole is. Then ease your way back, then attempt insert the peg in the socket. Arkinlae Posted May 1, 2014 So I managed to get the vinyl skin back over the hip ball joint finally, but I had to push so much the other leg joint has now come loose *rages* She has two floppy legs now, but at least all her skeleton is covered now. Wishing Xray specs were real right about now
Katiazza Posted May 1, 2014 I definitely understand your frustration I have a similar issue with Nova, my DD Nia. One of her legs is constantly longer than the other. She can stand, but only if she's off center and one (or both) leg(s) is out to the side. I've tried taking her apart twice now but I just can't manage to get the legs pushed in all the way and then reassembled without them coming apart again. Sigh, I've kind of given up so if you find a solution please share *Yuzu* DDS Yaya *Yuuko* DDIII Aozaki Aoko *Sakura* DDII Uryuu Sakuno
