Oh.. ok ok.. the ones I have uses magnets, thin steel plates are positioned on the back of her head, then held on by a wig cap, then wig goes on... and the interface just snaps right on.. but took me a few tries to get the position right.

That's a cool idea, but mine are actually holding the hair in place too as it's not tied back in any other way.

This is AWESOME! I just finished watching Madoka the other day.

You have a typo in one of the pictures though, 'taget' should probably be 'target.'

Also, for anyone wanting Asuka or Rei interface barrettes, you could buy their Pullips.

Pullips have the same head size as DDs.

Ooooh, what will happen to them all???? I can't wait for part two!

Some of the coolest effects I've ever seen in a DD post! Rin was looking nice in her outfit for sure. And little Yuu is so cute! Especially when she is hiding behind the shield....

 

Where on earth did you get the Beam Rifle and shield? I saw those in pics on a Yuki on FFM at some show in Hong Kong. Did you get them from that show? I thought that set of weapons and armor was so friggin cool.

 

Welcome back Otakusan, I am now waiting on the edge of my seat to see Part Two!

Thanks AerisAguata, Thanks for pointing out the typo... you can never catch your own mistakes.. doesn't matter how many times you try. Also good idea on the Pullips for anyone who collects them as well.

Thanks Billy, I finally got around to this this post.. been away for just too long The Rifle and shield is actually from a 1/35 Gundam plastic complete figure from bandai ages ago. The post you saw from the HK doll meet is a person show bought a china knock-off and cut apart for his modification... since the real one can get pretty expensive.

Question about Asuka's head clips -- did you make them yourself? I bought a set off YJA (very expensive, sadly) but they are a wee bit small, I think. As well, attaching them was a giant pain in the ass. I had to undo her hair ties completely, but the clips weren't strong enough to hold her hair in place. So now I have a combo of clear elastics and the hair clips, as well as a couple of bobby pins to hold her hair down. I'm not happy with it overall -- it looks fine from the front, but not neat from the back due to the elastics. I also feel like I messed up her default wig -- is the wig you are using her default?

 

Sorry to bug you for so many questions. I love the magnet idea -- I'd be interested in a set of your head clips if you are selling them.

Awesome Asuka you got there PrettyCranium. The set that I got were from the last DP event in Japan. I knew someone that went and helped me pick them up... and they were pretty pricy too But the size is very good, large enough to cover the area where her twin tails are tied up. The wig I'm using is the Default wig, but I have washed off all the gel in her bangs and gave it a trim. One day I'd like to get a spare wig for Asuka just in case.. her tie-back from the two sides slowly comes loose bit by bit

Thanks. Let me know if you ever find a set like yours, I'm very interested. My set was so expensive because it actually came with another default wig, but it's pretty dusty (had been used) -- was washing difficult? The gel has come out of my wig from handling anyway.

 

I think the magnets are likely better for the clips because you. dont have to undo her default hairbands. Overall, I'm 90% happy with my set, but that 10% bugs me a lot sometimes.

 

Can't wait for the rest of the story. I love how your colors are so vibrant!

Ya i remembered you mentioned that it came with a wig too... then its all worth it (^^) and the night i unbox asuka for the first time.. i had pulled off the ribbons already, since the gel crap bothered me that much.. i HAD to give her a wash

WOW!!! Fantastic story Otaku-san. Very exciting and I can't wait to see more. I was sick for a few weeks and look what I almost missed....

 

I loved seeing Rin in those glasses - Ohhhhh, such a beauty! (megane fetish activated)

 

I also loved seeing Yuu wip out a Gundam shield and how you could see her eyes through the view port - very nice photos. Great effects on the photos as well. I loved the blur (radial blur?) when she had to use the shield. Very good choice.
